Default Husband and Wife Weekend Getaway! Where to eat? What to do?

Hi everyone! My husband and I will be visiting Chicago July 10th-12th, it will be our first trip without our son so we want to make it as romantic as possible! We will be staying at Swissotel and I was just wondering what bars and restaurants are good around that area?!? We are in our 20's and our favorite decor is tropical and we loooove seafood (especially crab legs)! I would love to find a place that serves fantastic margaritas as well! We are open for any activites too!! Any suggestions?!? Thanks!

For fantastic margaritas, hit up the bar inside Frontera Grill. For seafood, try Catch 35, about a block west of the hotel.

Since your favorite decor is tropical, I would suggest your checking out Trader Vic's. The most famous restaurant, noted for its South Pacific decor, was closed for some years but has reopened. Just about a 10 minute(or less) cab ride from your hotel. Check their website:

In your general area I'd strongly recommend:

1) Joe's Seafood Prime Steak & Stone Crab
2) Shaw's Crabhouse

Enjoy!

Frontera's looks excellent for margarita's! Trader Vic's looks like it has a fun atmosphere! We will have to try both of those places For the seafood is Shaw's or Joe's better or are they pretty similar? Thanks for your suggestions.. they all have been great!!

They are owned by the same company. Joe's is a bit more clubby, Shaw's is a bit more casual.

There are lots of great restaurants within a $5 cab ride. You may want to try C-House Restaurant for seafood also, or at least head up to their bar on top of the Affinia Hotel. The restaurant has some wild appetizers from their sushi bar, very creative and artisitic.

The Drake Hotel's Cape Cod Room is very good for seafood.
