It depends on what they are in prison for. There are a lot of people who are in prison who shouldn't be there.

If it saves money to get some shop lifters, porno fiends, pot heads and drunks out of state paid bed & cafeteria and back home watching Jerry Springer then why not?

If it's some bullsh*t drug offense, most definitely releases them.

I think it is a great idea. The jails/prisons are grossly overcrowded and we are running a huge deficit. Free the non-violent prisoners immediately.

I don't know about you folks, but I've had a hell of a time trying to buy pot, crack and vicodin lately.
I mean god damnit, how hard does a single woman in the Land of the Free have to work to get some oblivion? It makes me shake my gin and tonic with anger.
And then I'm contemplating how to remove the precious gin from the carpet, and no one needs that.

I think we just need to declare Texas a penal colony, and send 'em all there to work in labor camps.

If these people are released, your crime rate will soon skyrocket. We just had a mass murderer down in South Carolina who had been released. You might want to think about that. My answer would be no, build a bigger prison. It will save a lot of legal fees for the state.

Since Chicago is the crime capital of the world, just have the penal colony there. Why ruin the rest of the USA.
