I see the term "urban" used in a lot of different ways. I've seen it defined, explicitly or implicitly, as meaning: an area with a lot of blacks, a bad area, a dense area, etc...

How do you define the term urban? What places in Chicago are the most or least urban based on your definition?

Urban=dense. Safety, ethnic makeup, etc. has nothing to do with it.

Architects and urban planners use it to describe patterns of development, including density, "street walls", walkability, etc. BET uses it to mean "black". I think BET's definition is really obnoxious. I wish they'd stop.
