Fortunately I have a sales job right now, but I am not happy with it and it's compensation.

I have 3.5 years sales experience, and 2.5 of those years are with a well known local fortune 500 company. I have been looking for another job for 6 months.

There's nothing, and if you do find something, there's about 500 people more qualified who are applying for it.

Have a friend who works w/construction estimators...He told me there is a new industry standard for developing uniform software/database objects to make estimating easier, more accurate and cost-effective across systems. Maybe you know about this? He thinks there is lots of opportunity for someone with database/software development and architect/engineering experience to develop these newer object-based estimating systems. Don't know much more about this though....

No I dont know about this. Like I said my husband does not like estimating.he will do it, but he rather deal with other aspects of the job. Sounds like it would be a good direction for some.

That sounds right.... Heard there was start-up opportunity there for new products to support this... Ever think about going in that direction?

I don't have any BIM experience at this point. I was actually thinking about enrolling in some classes. The industry seems to be going in this direction, but my last firm was kind of ignoring it for some reason.
