Unfortunately, Intonation is gone. I went to that fest when it happened, and enjoyed it quite a bit.

I'm going to Pitchfork, all three days, looking forward to it. I like some of the Lollapalooza lineup better (Lou Reed, Depeche Mode, Animal Collective), but Pitchfork fits my pocketbook much better.

Personally, Im prepping to handle the savage physical onslaught of the almighty JESUS LIZARD! David Yow is certifiably insane

Also excited to finally see Yo La Tengo. Cant wait watch Ira tear his guitar to shreds during some extended instrumental "Blue Line Swinger" or "I Heard You Looking" freakout

And the Lips will cap the weekend very nicely, thank you very much

Outside of the headliners, Im quite excited for Doom, M83, Lindstrom, F*cked Up, and Frightened Rabbit

I saw Yo La Tengo in NYC for 4th of July a few years ago and they were great. It was an outdoor show and they communicated and joked around with the audience a lot.

True, although theres still the Hideout Block Party which always has a pretty good lineup. Also, the Empty Bottle in September runs their annual 5-day "Adventures In Modern Music" fest. a 5-day pass is $50...hard to argue with that.

Welp, I off. if i make it out the Jesus Lizard pit alive, Ill post a review later

I went a few years back, because there was no way in hell I was going to miss Sonic Youth performing Daydream Nation in its entirety (despite having seen Sonic Youth 4 times prior). Oh,and Slint was there, you can't forget about Slint.

That was really an incredible night. Don't forget that the GZA performed all of Liquid Swords, easily the best solo Wu Tang album.

As for via chicago...survive the pit? The Jesus Lizard are loud and all but it's not like it'll be anything like a Cro Mags gig in CBGBs circa 1986 or anything comparable. I think you'll come out relatively unscathed.

I wouldn't miss it. I'm most looking forward to the Pains of Being Pure at Heart, Beirut, Fleet Foxes, and the Walkmen.

Hell, Iggy Stooge was doing that stuff 40 years ago.

40 years, Christ.
