Agreed. I don't mind a range of views -- even extreme views that I am inclined to completely disagree with. I find the range of thoughts one of the major benefits of the forum. It's the dogma and ideology that I find unbearably tedious. If you don't agree with me it's because you've been brainwashed; everything I think is 100% correct, if you disagree with a piece of it you are a dupe; it is not possible to see it any way other than how I see it, etc. There is really no reason for such people to be taking place in an give-and-take dialog. Their views have zero nuance and can 100% be predicted and extrapolated from previous comments. I say state your point once and then leave. Otherwise it become just a droning background noise.

To the OP: did you find a place. I'd love to find a south loop studio for under $900.00. Seems everything starts around $1050 and up. I'm afraid to even consider 1 bedroom rents.

Better post my Wilmette apartment on CL soon. I start a new job in three weeks, and it's nowhere near here.

The Roosevelt Hotel apartments are being marketed as student residences for this fall. The website says units start at $650:

For the OP:

Some of them start at $599.
The thing is you are sharing a one bedroom with a roommate.

There are a couple on there that start at $750 for a one bedroom with no roommates...

Act fast!

No, I have not yet.. This is harder than I thought it would be! I have a few to look into, but nothing seems too promising as of yet

hmm, that seems pretty cheap. what's wrong w/ this place? sounds too good to be true, unless this is the building that practically touches the tracks at the Roosevelt stop. still seems like a decent deal if you can deal w/ the noise, what w/ the lake, museums, and shopping so close by. seems like, depending on how stringent the rules are and how much they enforce them, a couple could move into the $750 place and live downtown on the cheap. not sure I'd pay $600 to share a room w/ someone else though
