Default Cook County Board President Race

U.S. Rep. Danny Davis May Run For Cook County Board President - cbs2chicago.com (http://cbs2chicago.com/politics/danny.davis.county.2.1072987.html - broken link)

He's only polling now but do you think there is enough hate for Stroger in the city and burbs to unseat him no matter the opposing candidate?

Danny Davis certainly seems qualified, since he has experience on the board and playing nice with the machine.

Yes. Stroger is a joke, but he's also become the whipping boy for just about any anti-machine venting, even when it has nothing to do with him.

Anyone not named Blagojevich has a chance to unseat him.

There is just too much rage about the parking meters, sales tax, roads, etc - for Stroger to survive.

I don't have much faith that Danny Davis will run the county any differently than Todd Stroger in terms of patronage, waste, and bloat. He does seem like a much better leader, though. He lacks that uniquely Stroger douchy quality.

What the heck happened to Forrest Claypool ?? ..guy seemed reasonable, and had an OK track record ..love to know the 'back story' on what changed his mind for running ... Agree that just about anybody could beat Todd Stroger, but from the current slate, looks like same-old same-old with a bit less buffoonery ..

He has decided to leave the board to go into the private sector. Interesting.

Someone told me last night that black ministers had endorsed Mr. Davis over Mr. Stroger. I don't know is this is true or not.

Remember Ms. Preckwinkle is running, too.

To tell you the truth I would not vote for any of those three.

But out of the three I would prefer Preckwinkle.

What would Chicago politics be without patronage.? Gawd I wish Royko was still with us. He would be having a field day.

Lower sales tax, lower property tax, better schools, CTA projects that actually reach a completion date which is roughly the same date as was determined at the beginning of the project......
