I can be in any number of happenin' neighborhoods in 7 to 15 minutes. And when I get back, there will be wide-open parking no matter what time of day. It's nice having no fear of moving my car; it makes seeing the city beyond my own corner of it a lot more convenient. Plus there's no "happenin' neighborhood" premium built into my rent.

No. Now that the city sticker and zone stickers are one in the same the woman at the desk just included a caveat in her info. The city does allow buffer zone exemptions but I have no idea if it is simply a box she had to check on her end or if she ended up just making up something. It took her no time at all and she didn't say anything like "give me a minute to go check this out" so I assume I'm not the first person to try and succeed in zone infringement.

What?? No way. Email Vi Daley directly. Tell her you have a young child to lug or bad knees or some sob story as to why you can't walk 5 blocks. That's the ward that my city sticker says I'm in now and I really didn't have any issue a month ago. How silly.

yeah, it makes no sense. she made it sound like reaching into her drawer and handing me a letter that has been photocopied thousands of time was this huge ordeal.

that's a good suggestion about emailing her, but the ward43 website only has a general email, which i'm assuming one of her secretaries would respond to

EDIT: oo nvm, i found her email on a different website

ok, i wrote a pretty convincing letter if i say so myself. kinda reminds me of that time i slept through a midterm after pulling an all nighter studying for it. then made up a sob story to get it dropped from my grade.

now i play the waiting game......

^^It could be a minute too. I wouldn't hold my breath for a response this month. This guy that does a local webcast radio show got unjustly towed from Stockton in October of last year, emailed Ald. Daley and finally got an email back this May. Apparently the email told him he shouldn't have paid to get his car out of detention until he was able to contact someone at the alderman's office, so, if he wanted any recourse from them he should have abandoned his car there for 8 months and paid the daily storage fee the city impound lot charges.

Damned if you do, damned if you don't

Well if you live north of Diversey you live in the 44th ward.

I would just get the 44th ward parking sticker/city sticker (383.)
In the future maybe you can buy guest passes for the 43th ward.

There is more parking in the 44th ward anyway. I have no idea why you would try to get a permit for the 43rd ward in the first place.
