That's been usually very correct. William Z. Foster was an expert on trade unions and a Communist. Google him. Communists used trade unions to push ideology, too bad for the trade unionists.

Actually IMO unionists need to be more Red, not less, and in practical terms push the compromised middle to the left.

Illegal immigrants come to the USA to make money and benefit from and ultimately participate in capitalism, they don't go to Cuba. get real. Besides, communism is retarded, it could only possibly work when the workers are the same race/ethnicity. That is the only way you could possibly get the workers to truly believe in helping the other out, like in China or Nazi Germany (National socialism).

I truly believe that totalitarian system could only work when the workers could unite, and that would be on nationalistic grounds only. The only totalitarian systems that ever produced good results were in Italy and Germany, and one could argue that they would have kicked serious butt if given more time. China also proves that a racial homogeneity-based system can produce results.

In the polyglot USA, forget it, it'd never work now, I bet even Wm. Foster would admit that.

To the OP, check his backyard to see if he has a makeshift jail out back hidden by tarps.

I think you missed my point. Though you make some interesting ones.

I think we're operating with two different definitions of "liberal", yours the more classical, theoretical one, mine the more contemporary, grounded one- reflective of what modern day "Liberals" actually are.

I get what you're saying and in many regards, I kinda fit into that mold myself, but those very same plaid-clad, shot-and-a-beer guys who rail against the 'corporate big-wigs' who sign their paychecks have virtually nothing in common with a tie-dyed Berkeley protester or the 'urbane' Lincoln Parker, even though they've arrived at the same philosophical ends about "the corporations" (albeit via totally opposite intellectual means).

When I'm out with those guys in the hunt shack after a glorious day shooting Bambi, a 2009 "liberal" wouldn't have any place amongst us in spite of the fact that a few of us belong to a trade union, think people should be allowed to smoke pot and generally dislike authority figures.

These sex offender laws are stupid. Ostracizing child abusers keeps them from functioning as normal adults, which makes them MORE likely to reoffend. Also, the laws have gotten so ridiculously broad that 19 year old who has sex with his 17 year old girlfriend is a sex offender, and there are a few cases of non-sex related crimes causing someone to become a legal sex offender, and the laws are set up so that one's status is impossible to fight, and nobody seems to care that innocent people's lives are ruined by this. I think that sex offender laws give people a false sense of security as well, as in you can tell your child to stay away from Mr. Registered who lives down the street and you think your kid will be safe, when in reality pedophiles can come from ANYWHERE and children need to be taught to be careful with anybody.

Finally, Megan's Laws statistically are failures, as child rapes by strangers have not decreased.

You sound like a pissed off registered sex offender?
I'm not talking about the 19 year old and his 17 year old girl having consensual sex, I'm talking about 45 year olds victimizing children, for example 6, 8, 10 year olds. If a molester can't tell the difference between right and wrong, well, they probably shouldn't be walking the streets anyway and need to be either incarcerated or put down.
Giving child molesters a chance to reoffend is the problem. This should be a 1 strike and you're out situation. If a person can't control themselve and decides to prey on children, well, then they should get their freedom card taken away and spend the rest of their days in jail or in the ground. And don't give me this BS about them having a 'disease' or 'sickness'. If that's the case, then again, I say protect the children and lock these sickos up until they pass away.
