Default Recommended Jazz/Blues and House music clubs in Chicago?

Hi there

Does anyone have recommendations for jazz and blues clubs in Chicago? Also (if you know of them) any good jam sessions that take place as I am a sax player and will be visiting Chicago for a few weeks next week.

I'd also like to check out the Chicago house music scene so any recommended clubs there would be welcome too.

Many thanks

Spectrum Bar and Grill has a live Blues Band on Saturdays...I went last Saturday for the first time and loved it. It's located in the heart of Greektown on Jackson and Halsted http://www.yelp.com/biz/spectrum-bar-and-grill-chicago

For authentic (i.e. non tourist-trap) blues:

Harlem Avenue Lounge - Home - Live Blues Music in Berwyn Illinois Chicago south side

They also have open mic/jam sessions on Thursdays.

If you like an international flair to your music, the hothouse is excellent:
HotHouse - The Center for International Performance and Exhibition

While not a music venue, the MCA has some great jazz acts as well:
Museum of Contemporary Art

MCA's theater is a small enough to be cozy, but large enough to host decent size acts. I would love to see Philip Glass - unfortunately it's sold out!

Another hidden gem for jazz and international music on the Northside is Katerina's on Irving Park:
Katerina's | The Hippest Jazz, Funk, Latin, Blues, Greek & International Music

While not a staple for live music, a great place to shake your proverbial booty is the FBL:
