A friend and I are bringing the train into Chicago in October to see a Matinee of Jersey Boys. We leave from South Bend, Indiana. Could someone please tell me what station is closest to the Bank of America Theater? Also, we'll have time for dinner after the Musical. What restaurants are in the area that will not take us out of our way to catch the train home? We'd like something nice, but not break the bank.

I appreciate this so much!

Italian Village is right across the street from the theater, which is nice and fits your requirements, I think. I would go to the upstairs restaurant (there are 2 or three separate restaurants in there, I believe). I've eaten at the first floor one and the upstairs one and I liked upstairs better. It has more variety on the menu and is less expensive. Downstairs was good too, but I guess I'd just rather save the cash if given the option.

The Berghoff is also nearby and so is Elephant and Castle. Elephant and Castle is a bar, but the food is pretty good. Oh, and Nick's Fish Market is also close. Nicks can get pricey, but they have the best Lobster Bisque that I've ever had.

As for the trains, I don't know that off hand... if I have time I can look it up.

As far as which station:

I assume you are taking the south shore line up. The theatre is about equidistant between Millenium Station and the Van Buren St. Station. Both of which will give you a half mile walk or cab ride to the theatre.

Have a wonderful time at Jersey Boys! I'm seeing it for the second time on the 14th. You'll love it.
