Tire slashed in Wicker Park
Was it because of my California license plates or because I'm somewhat Mexican looking? I've heard the Puerto Ricans and Mexicans are warring in Chicago but the strange thing about was that it was not the Puerto Ricans I think it was the Blacks because of how they were looking at me like they were giving me a warning. Has this ever happened to anyone else or was it just a random act?

It could just be because people are antisocial dicks. Get used to pointless car vandalism. It's part of city living and it will probably happen again if you live here for any length of time.

you could be right it could be racial. however more and more on public transport and on the streets where cars are parked--- beginning to resemble paris suburbs. lots of anger towards those who got a job, clothes and a car.

It happens in the burbs too. Last year, several cars in a two block radius got there tires slashed in Calumet City.

You will learn quickly that even though you believe race could be a factor, others here will forbid you from expressing your opinion. There is no possible way Mexican and Puerto Ricans could be warring either, since race is only a fake construct in Chicago. |

I had my tires slashed in Wicker Park and in the Gold Coast for no reason other than pointless vandalism. It happens.
