Protest the Banks: Downtown Rally October 27th
Just found out about this!
The American Bankers Association is having their annual convention in Chicago this year. Meanwhile, a large group of labor, community and consumer organizations have organized a protest march. It's a great way to get Congress's attention and let everyone know Main Street wants Wall Street held accountable (and we want our tax money back!).
I'm going (and I never go to anything....). Times, info, links posted below. Who is this appropriate for? Small business owners who can't get a loan, despite all the money we've loaned Wall Street. Anyone with a credit card whose rate went up, even though the Fed is keeping rates at 0% for banks. Anyone who saves for a rainy day and is offended at the bonuses banks are giving out when they know thousands of their loans are about to go bad. Anyone who lost their job, 401k, 529, pension as a domino effect result of the games the banks played with their irresponsible financial products. In short, anyone who's mad at banks and/or Wall Street!
MARCH TO THE BANKER'S CONVENTION: Tuesday, October 27th
10:30am - March: starting at Stetson and Wacker
11:00am - Rally at the Sheraton Hotel (301 East North Water Street, Chicago)
Mad at Banksters? In or Near Chicago Oct. 25-27? You Can Do Something About It!
Showdown In Chicago
Stop Bank Greed.org-- Chicago is fighting back. 10-27-09.

Are tea baggers going to attend this event. After all, they were against the bail out.

Showdown In Chicago
Last time I checked communism was about abolishing private property (among other things) and would not be advocating the regulation of a private banking system as their solution.
Actual communists would be calling for the dismantling of the banking system, would decry the notion of profits and, would demand that all wealth be equally distributed amongst the population, would seize bank property (given that the ownership of private property is generally frowned upon amongst communists) , and would demand that the workers control all means of production and would oppose any notion of money making money without physical production or labor taking place. None of this things are suggested in the proposed solutions above.

Have you ever heard of a systematic and gradual take over? Socialism comes before communism can be instituted in a capitalistic nation. Those who desire to destroy freedom covertly and eventually even overtly slip in socialist principles into a free society gradually weakening a democratic republic until it is no longer capitalist nor democratic.
Communism is the desired end result of socialism in a true Marxist's world.
So while most socialists will never proclaim themselves to be communists they are deep down inside communists who aspire that their sick ideas gain hold in a nation and socialism morphs into communism. Socialism is the facade and vehicle for what communists wish to accomplish.
Socialists (especially radical socialists) do not care what tactics they need to employ (nor if some tactics seem on the surface to go against their ideals) as long as these tactics result in the completion of their goal they will deem all a success.
Malcolm X used the phrase "by any means necessary" from the play "Les Mains Sales" (Dirty Hands) by Jean-Paul Sartre. This phrase is a perfect example of the communistic method.
"I was not the one to invent lies: they were created in a society divided by class and each of us inherited lies when we were born. It is not by refusing to lie that we will abolish lies: it is by eradicating class by any means necessary." Jean-Paul Sartre-Dirty Hands
Don't try to lecture me on political systems or the ways and means of those who wish to overthrow governments and political systems.

That is all assuming you are a believer of the slippery slope fallacy.
Of course there is a reason it is a fallacy...
