Best Gyros in Chicago
OK, I am not about to start a huge debate or anything, but, as we were driving back to the suburbs from Chinatown today, my son asked if I thought that there might be authentic gyros in Chicago. Now, I do not recall ever seeing/having one here...but, I figured that you knowledgeable folks would know. Would like to stay on the NW side if possible.....
thanks again....

I dont know if its authentic or not, but the best i've had is 'Crossrhodes' on Main and Chicago in Evanston.
Sorry it doesnt meet your NW side criteria, but that place is awesome.

Wally's is good, but a little small on portion size and a little much price wise for what you get. It is good though.
Carry on.

We used to get it from a place in Norwood Park by the tracks and a used car lot with silver, red and blue flag things but it went our of business in the 90s.

I think it is still open. But I have not paid too much attention to it when driving by it the last few years.
It is called Bill's Drive-In.
Last time I was there it was still decent, but that was like 8 years ago.
I believe its prior location was where the bank is close to the Blue Angel at Foster and Northwest Highway
