Restaurants on a budget? (Chicago: buy, price, store)

Hi-
We will be visiting Chicago in July and staying near the Art Institute etc. Any suggestions of good,decent priced restaurants in the area? We plan to eat one meal out a day and exist on food we buy at the grocery store (and maybe Chicago dogs).
Type of cuisine can vary- our family likes everything: Greek, Indian, Thai, Burgers and Salads, Pizza...
We hope to have leftovers.
Also, is there a good grocery store in this area?

One of my favorites in that area is Fast Foo's on Jackson just west of Wabash. It's a quick-serve Chinese joint where you walk in, drop a fiver, and walk out absolutely stuffed. You'll also be able to find just about any type of fast food there too, McD,s Arby's, Subway, Chipotle, Jimmy John's, Quizno's, et cetera.
