Hello,

I figured that I would ask this question in this forum rather than the jobs forum as I figured that I'm more likely to get a quicker response from someone in Illinois who is currently unemployed and being paid unemployment benefits.

My 26 weeks ends in another month in early February and I'm just curious if the EUC (Emergency unemployment compensation) is still in effect because I'm still getting few calls about jobs though that could be because of the holidays. Does anyone know if the 33 week extension is still in effect?
I qualify according to how they determine if a person is eligible and I would prefer to not have to worry about it but the current job market is brutal.

Thank you for your help

It would be best to call IDES and ask them.

They also have a website, most likely that info will be on there.

Smile Illinois Unemployment - Weeks Available

log in to the Illinois Dept. Of Job Security Web Site

they have exactly how many weeks are available to you.

I am unemployed since Nov 2008 and still on benefits, I just started Tier 4. Hope that helps.

Good luck,

Does Anyone know exactly how many total weeks of Illinois Unemployment Benefits are available including all extensions? I know there are tier 1 through 4 but question if tier 5 went through. If someone can explain all the weeks and what categories they are in, I would be very appreciative.

I just started collecting on Tier 4 but know there are emergency weeks and extended weeks available, Confused here.

Might also check the unemployment forum; there seem to be a lot of experts hanging about there.
