These people can't fine a way to balance the budget and properly fund things that need to be funded, but they can find the time to pass 300 new laws?

Kick them out.

One of the better ideas Jesse Ventura ever had was creating a one-year moratorium on all new laws and the legislators would spend that year updating and deleting useless laws.

What our country has turned into is a professional bureaucracy where a couple centuries of legislators- at all levels- who feel the need to justify their laws by "making more laws" have created an indecipherable legal patchwork that bears no relationship to common sense, standard ethics/morals, or anything we're supposed to value in this country. These generations upon generations upon generations of more and more and more laws has also quietly given the government so much latitude to do whatever it wants that power is truly out of the hands of the people. There is always some law or statue that can be trotted out and "interpreted" to justify anything they want to do.

Our system of laws in this country is a ****ing disgrace, but one thing we can be sure of; with each passing year, they will make more of them whether we need them or not.
