haha, so true. You'll never catch me defending chicago weather, and I've lived here my whole life.

My aunt, uncle, and cousins live in NH and they still think it sucks. I think that Chicago is a great city, but it is not known for its weather, and for good reason.

I just think its funny that people think sunbelt cities are immune to super cold weather. I stated that ATL experiences snow and freezing cold temps, although not on the scale or longevity that Chicago does. How many times do I need to state that? And I brought up other times of the year because youre so stuck on saying how "bad" Chicago's winter weather gets, so I played your little game and stated how "bad" ATL's summers get. Every place has bad weather, so why single out Chicagos and come on here and say how much better it is in SF??? Noone cares. I also mentioned the San Andreas fault because what use is good weather in San Fran when the city crumbles to dust? If and when the time comes when SF gets hit with a quake, all the good weather in the world wont mean a thing.

Also, Im allowed to be a homer on the CHICAGO BOARD. Go be a homer on the SF board.

my brother from atlanta visited chicago during winter once. he described heading out the revolving door of his hotel. it revolved. and revolved. and revolved until he was back in the hotel lobby without actually setting foot outside. the next time he went outside was to take a cab to the airport.

he's also talked about how people in atlanta drive like jackasses when it snows. the city practically shuts down.

that to me is the real difference between winter in atlanta and chicago.

I say Chicago winters don't compare to the South....and that is true...you respond by saying....in defensive fashion of course, that well the other time of year is this and that....when did I discuss other times of the year?

It actually does get truly warm inparts of the Bay area...try East Bay.

You are determined to say Chicago is the greatest place ever on this board with no shortcomings, and in the process be defensive and point ou shortcomings of other places. And that is totally your right....but itis funny whenthe topic was winter in Chicago compared to ATL....you somehow come up with Andreas fault...etc....perhaps some counseling would help you with your earthquake paranoia? Because I see how relevant it was when compaing Chicago winter to ATL.

It's a huge stretch to defend Spring in Chicago.
How can you not defend spring in Chicago!?!?! After January/February and most of March with temps below 50, it finally creeps up to the 60's-70's and 80's in April and May. It's definitely the most exciting time of the year. Wandering outside in mid April at 10pm and wearing shorts and flip flops. Then the next day it slams down into the 40's again.....then a few days later it's back up in the 70's. It's the only time of the year I really look at the weather each day...seeing when I can come out of my winter shell and bask in the sun again.

I think the temp swings make it more exciting. Between early yesterday morning and tomorrow afternoon the temps are going to be rising roughly 40 degrees - to the low/mid 90's. Sure 80's and sun every single day would be nice, but kinda boring after awhile.

yes. he may have exaggerated not going out at all (though he can be a hermit), but he definitely didn't go out that winter day.

While I was suffering from the Southern heat, Chicago was very pleasant. I can't wait to move there from the HOT, HOT south. There are trade-offs for horrible Midwestern winters and horrible Southern summers!
