I'm from NY, late 20's, and seriously considering Chicago after visiting a few times. I've been to Wrigleyville and it seems great. What other neighborhoods would you consider if you were looking for bars, restaurants, chicks, and a 2br apartment for $1600 or so?

Aside from Lincoln Park & Wrigleyville (which is a sub-area of Lakeview) there is Wicker Park, Bucktown, River North, Old Town, and Gold Coast.
To a lesser extent: Andersonville, North Center, Lincoln Square, Ukrainian Village, and the West Loop.
Once you start approaching 30 the nightlife in Lakeview/Wrigleyville and Lincoln Park can start to get old real quick, especially if you are annoyed by frat-boy types.

That's a good point. I've pretty much outgrown the whole frat thing...so maybe I'm looking for an older crowd than Wrigleyville or Lincoln Park have to offer. Any ideas?

You don't have to write off all of Lincoln Park and Lakeview. Its not entirely filled with 24 year olds with ****ty sales jobs.

Wouldn't Bucktown/ Wicker Park also provide the OP with plenty of opportunities to hook up, etc. without the frat boy scene of Lincoln Park?

Yeah, I am sure they would. I was just throwing Logan Square out there because I live there and am a bit biased. Logan Square is also slightly cheaper than Bucktown; I'm not sure about housing costs in Wicker Park.
