Default Senior Citizen Population in Chicago

Is there a large population of senior citizens in the Chicagoland area? If so, what parts specifically?

Based on the US Census website, the current estimate of those 65 and over is just about 285,000 which is around 10% of total population: Chicago city, Illinois - Fact Sheet - American FactFinder

Seniors are pretty much scattered all around the city. Many folks "age in place" and continue to live where they lived during midlife. Also, we have senior only apartment buildings in just about every lakefront neighborhood on the northside. Some seniors move from the burbs to the city to retire (and some do the reverse
