I'm considering renting an apartment downtown with a city view. Preferably a 1+ bedroom. Can anyone recommend a particular building with city / lake views?

Ideally, I'd like to have a place with a view that includes navy pier.

Lakeshore East has rental buildings that should have views of Navy Pier.

I'd like to second Lakeshore East. I live in Aqua and we have a pretty good view of Navy Pier. Aqua is their big push right now, so you can get a pretty good deal in their slightly older towers, Tides and Shoreham.

If I could it do it over I would live in the Lakeshore East neighborhood. But I live in Marina Towers and I have an east view. I see down the Chicago River, and lake Michigan, it's beautiful. Right in the heart of everything.

I think the best views for the money are probably in some of the new south loop buildings surrounding michigan avenue.
The best I would agree is probably lake shore east, you'll have both looking back towards downtown and out over the lake and navy pier.
