Last time I was in town I parked on N. Stockton Drive parallel to N. Lincoln Park Way - It's one of the last North/South streets heading east before you hit the park. I found a spot and and was able to leave my car parked for three nights without a problem. My question is whether or not N. Stockton (or any nearby streets) are still free with no restrictions. Will it be a problem finding a spot in the summer with people visiting the lake and zoo? Will I have to move during the day?

Thanks.

When I lived in Chicago the only time a legally parked car was ticketed was when they plowed snow routes. I don't know it that is still true or not?

Technically you are not allowed to remain in the same spot for more than 7 consecutive days.

Will it be a problem finding a spot in the summer? Yes.

Default Not anymore

I always park d on Stockton. Often for several days. This time it was for 3 days. Nowhere did I see any signs with restrictions. My car was ticketed and towed. They said it is now for 24 hours I asked where it was posted and they could not identify.

I cannot find anything on the City of Chicago website about the 24 hour rule.

City of Chicago :: Abandoned Vehicle

This talks about abandoned vehicles. Does your car look like a junk pile? If it was and parked in front of my house I'd complain too! Maybe that's what happened.
