June was just sitting here pondering all the debating, arguing, and well, you know, as regards many of the threads/posts on this forum. So she got to wondering:

Amid the never ending UR vs. ET debate, she wondered: What are the verses, passages, chapters of the bible that everyone would deem "most uplifting?"

~It matters not what denomination you are, June's just interested in what people would personally find to be the most encouraging, uplifting passages, regardless of denomination.

Thanks in advance for a rather *unusual?* querie....

Take gentle care.

Well, here is a wise word from Proverbs to start with.

Proverbs 12:25

Worry weighs a person down;
an encouraging word cheers a person up.

My favorite uplifting verse is Jeremiah 29:11 "For I know the plans I have you say the Lord, they are plans for good and not for disaster, to give you a future and a hope".

Because God knows our future and goes with us as we fulfill His mission, we can have boundless hope.

In the midst of all the false labeling and name-calling that is spewed forth by so-called Christians I find comfort:

Isaiah 51:7 Hearken unto me, ye that know righteousness, the people in whose heart is my law; fear ye not the reproach of men, neither be ye afraid of their revilings.

For me, all of 1 Cor 15 is inspirational -- I will just post the last verse

1Co 13:13 And now faith, hope, and love, these three things remain; but the greatest of these is love.

GOD'S WORD® Translation (©1995)
His anger lasts only a moment. His favor lasts a lifetime. Weeping may last for the night, but there is a song of joy in the morning. Psalm 30:5

Amen, Meerkat - the power of love cannot be over-emphasized. The power of Love IS the power of God... Love is Stronger than Death!

Good thread, June7!

But. but, but....we must have conflict and division.

Otherwise this forum will just fade away.

I am right and you are wrong

With that said. It is ironic that an atheist sees thru the BS and tells us to behave as Christ would have us be.

June,

Thanks for the thread ... I have found that is is easy to get carried away with the debates esp UR vs ET and loose sight of what I understood of Jesus message when I was a child - what I understood the message was about is forgiveness, love, compassion, justice, truth ......
