Merry Christmas Eve! My mom is here and we have been having a blast! We are making skirt steak tonight and I'm so excited because I just discovered it (I mean, discovered it for myself - it seems that millions of other people already knew about its existence! Go figure...) a few months ago and my mother has never had it before! She's going to love it! And we're going to start our preparations for tomorrow. Things go so much faster when my mom is around to help!

Got 'er done!!! Put the last few in gift bags with tissue paper..Most od the family is already here, eating, rattling packages and taking pictures. Some have to go to work today, because they are hospital workers.

Dear Santa, I hope there is a kindle under that tree for me.

I got a 10 dollar off coupon when I spend 20 at Kohl's so ran over there today and used it. Kohl's' always has mark down from the original price so the item came to 12 dollars and I ended up spending 2 for the item. Nice stocking stuffer. Then I had a 10 dollar off coupon to Penney's so we went to the Mall right before they closed at 6 and my hubby bought some socks.

We were over at his sisters in another town to celebrate Christmas eve with them. They had lasagna and tomorrow they come here for barbecue chicken. Guess turkey and ham are not on the menu now.

Our kids and grandkids come here tomorrow. It's hard to get everywhere when you see in-laws, etc.

Merry Christmas to everyone on C-D.

Tell me about it! I have to say - I have the BEST neighbors in the world! My next door neighbor came and knocked on my door yesterday afternoon to tell me that I probably wanted to move my car to the space in front of his house because our driveway would be undrivable soon. We have a really long and steep driveway. Anyway, my mom (who is visiting from sunny CA) and I decided to try to shovel and salt the driveway so we could get the car out and move it to the space down below. Well, we have never shovelled a driveway before and were having a hard time of it. We looked down - and one of our other neighbors was walking up our driveway from the street down below with a shovel. He helped us shovel our driveway, then he moved my car for me because he was used to driving in the snow, and then he picked the hubby up from the train station later that night because he was worried about me driving in the snow! Now, he might have gotten a little prodding from his wife - but I'm telling you - we have the best neighbors!!!

Wow~! You DO have wonderful neighbors!

My son and I went outside last night (at my insistance) around 11:00 to do some shovelling then. My thought has always been it's better to shovel when the storm is half way through, than to wait till morning, when there's twice as much snow to remove. (Plus June likes shovelling snow at night....) We learned long ago to move our cars to the end of the driveway, that way we only have to shovel a pathway to the cars, and then shovel out the rest of the driveway near the road. June can't believe that for five years (when living in the house alone) that she managed all the snow removal herself...I must have had stonger biceps back then!

Winter: Gotta love it!
