Do not be afraid of those who kill the body but cannot kill the soul. Rather, be afraid of the One who can destroy both soul and body in hell.

Exact scripture ref please: Luke 9:51-56 is the only record of this incident that I'm aware of. It only has Jesus rebuking them...

Luke 9:51-56
Samaritan Opposition

51As the time approached for him to be taken up to heaven, Jesus resolutely set out for Jerusalem.

52And he sent messengers on ahead, who went into a Samaritan village to get things ready for him;

53but the people there did not welcome him, because he was heading for Jerusalem.

54When the disciples James and John saw this, they asked, "Lord, do you want us to call fire down from heaven to destroy them?"

55But Jesus turned and rebuked them,

56and they went to another village.

Calling fire from heaven to destroy the Samaritans on the spot because they did not welcome them? Don't you see that has nothing to do with what we are talking about?

Back to context (eternal life or eternal punishment):

Jesus said that the unrighteous "will go away to eternal punishment, but the righteous to eternal life."

Jesus said that people "will be thrown outside, into the darkness, where there will be weeping and gnashing of teeth" and into "the fiery furnace, where there will be weeping and gnashing of teeth,"

Jesus said that if a hand, foot or an eye caused you to sin, it would be better to lose it and enter heaven maimed than to be tossed into hell because of the sin it causes.

Jesus said "Whoever believes in the Son has eternal life, but whoever rejects the Son will not see life, for God's wrath remains on him."

It has everything to do with what we are saying , because it reveals the true nature and character of God has opposed to the spirit and nature of orthodox christianity .

Like i said orthodox christianity believes for some reason , that wrath, judgement, chastisement, discipline, destroying and destruction refers to eternal torment .

People come up with scenarios and think it proves anything about someones eternal fate in the first place.
Given that the entire purpose of the "Scenario" had nothing whatsoever to do with "proving" anything but was, by contrast, an attempt to formulate June's questions in a more concrete way that might facilitate dialogue in order to clarify matters which, despite tens of thousands of posts, still remain obscure--your posts in response to said "Scenario" were a complete waste of time for all concerned.

Just an off-topic observation: if one wants to evaluate the merits of a belief system by the "fruits" of the believers which adhere to said system, yours isn't looking too credible. Does anyone else detect a pattern here?

55But he turned, and rebuked them, and said, Ye know not what manner of spirit ye are of. 56For the Son of man is not come to destroy men's lives, but to save them. And they went to another village. Luke chapter 9

Could it be because Jesus Christ himself spelled it out. I just quoted you several verses where he explains it, but you choose to ignore them, and cling to one out of context verse. Refusing to kill the Samarians on the spot has nothing to do with punishment after death, he was teaching his followers how to live.

If He came to save life and not destroy it , isn't it reasonable to say that i believe him over you .

The verse you quoted you automatically assume means eternal torment .

Then read and believe His own words which I quoted for you.

Talk about wanton disregard for the scriptures......

"Eternal" Punishment (Matthew 25:46) is NOT True to the Greek Language

Read this short link if you have an open heart you may just learn something.
