....because mankind was evil and deserved to be wiped out, then why didn't God destroy satan when satan and the fallen angels rebelled? Why wipe out the small fish and leave the great white shark still swiming around? Also, with satan still around, what would wiping out all mankind except for 8 people accomplish? The root cause, satan, was still allowed to exist. How was this going to solve any problems?
You're a deep thinker lifertexan. Excellent questions!
There is a lot more to it though. Getting rid of Satan at that particular time would not have accomplished what you think- and getting rid of him at all is only part of the picture. Many lifesaving steps were put into place in between the flood and the future time when Satan will be gone for good.

As a great fundamentalist who used to once frequent these boards used to say, "it is ALL to bring glory to god" no matter if he has to whack the entire human population to get it. He needs and craves it THAT bad and can't seem to do without it (according to his logic).

Because man had sinned and thus have inheritted death when they ate the forbidden fruit. God has promised to deal with sin at the fall. All throughout the Bible is the foreshadowing explanation of the Good News that was coming as history will be seen as His Story which is to the glory of God in salvation which is found only in Jesus Christ as in all those that call upon the name of the Lord shall be saved.
As you look to God to blame, why not to man for yielding to temptations?
Why didn't Adam just chop down that tree of the knowledge of good and evil? Because he had no knowledge of what would happen if one ate the forbidden fruit. Quite the conundrum.
Now we know what is outside of the will of God: nothing good. As God is good, those that want nothing of God will go to the place where nothing good dwells: hell and the lake of fire.
Anyone wants to know God personally can do so by learning of Jesus Christ and His great love and longsuffering for us in bringing us back into that reconciled relationship with God through Jesus Christ.
With death and sin and the devil and his angels prophesied to be defeated once and for all after being casted in the lake of fire in the future, we can rest in the knowledge of God that we will never be seperated from Him again because of sin, thanks to the Lord Jesus Christ. As many witnesses will be coming out of history to give His Story, everyone in Heaven will know God personally and never sin again.
And because there will be many that do not believe and be cast into the lake of fire as well, that will also testify of God's eternal judgment, thus signalling the defeat of sin and death and the devil as well as unbelief.
Those saved will know God again through Jesus Christ.
So hold unto your seats as the adventure continues. God to the rescue to save people that seek Him from their sins so they can live with Him again.
Since there are people that do not seek Him and prefer to live in sin and not come to Jesus Christ to be reproved of them, is it any wonder why the world was flooded back then? But yet it also served as a foreshadowing explanation in a witness for the coming Good News.
1 Peter 3:19By which also he went and preached unto the spirits in prison; 20Which sometime were disobedient, when once the longsuffering of God waited in the days of Noah, while the ark was a preparing, wherein few, that is, eight souls were saved by water. 21The like figure whereunto even baptism doth also now save us (not the putting away of the filth of the flesh, but the answer of a good conscience toward God,) by the resurrection of Jesus Christ:
As it is, we are in a prison on death row on this world in the land of the living: those that believe are pardoned as they tell others the Good News so that they may believe and be pardoned too.
Everyone except insane mises the point. If God felt the need to deal with sin by destroying the world after man is created, then why not take proactive steps and destroy satan and the fallen angels BEFORE creating man and sticking him in a world of preexisting sin?In other words,if God was mad enough to destroy man,why wasn't He mad enough to destroy the being that tempted man,and first rebelled against God?

This is what happens when a person starts with bad precedents and try to end up with logical answers. It's like adding a concrete block into a blender filled with vegetables and expecting chicken parmesan.
I'm suprised that it's because "His ways are higher than our ways and his thoughts are are higher than ours" has not been thrown into the mix yet .
lifertexan keep asking the questions they are genuine and you have every right to ask them .
For what it's worth i believe satan the devil is the carnal nature of man , it's the part of us that hates our enemies instead of loving them , it's the part of us that curses those who curse us instead of blessing those who curse us and so on.
The Lord cleaned the earth of the giants and the giant spirits and the corruption in the land in that time and After the flood Noah cursed his son and invited the devil back into he earth... ....In Genesis 9:20-27 ..Noah cursed Canaan for uncovering his body when he was to drunk of wine........The Lord God saved the animals in to Ark and eight people because the two people in the Ark where the Spiritual Grandfathers of Jesus Christ and all the decendents since Adam to Joseph, Jesus blessed Spiritual Father ... Where Noah and his son Shem and Shems Son Arphaxad, were Spiritual Fathers of Jesus and his son and his son and his son in Genesis11: 10-26 here...... The devil will be cleaned here and return from Hell to manipulate sin in the earth and later then Lord will send him back to hell and he will get out again and again until Judgement of Jesus on the last days and that will be no more...Glory to God......
