Seems like a logical question... doesn't it? Matthew 13:10

Fact is, Jesus was simply not making sense to them. Just prior to this:
  • Pharisees tried to accuse Jesus of not keeping the Sabbath Matthew 12:2
  • Pharisees said Jesus was the prince of demons Matthew 12:24
  • the Pharisees and teachers of the law wanted to see a miracle to prove his claims Matthew 12:38
  • Someone told him, "Your mother and brothers are standing outside, wanting to speak to you." and he responds "Who is my mother, and who are my brothers?" Pointing to his disciples, he said, "Here are my mother and my brothers." Matthew 12:47-50

Fact is Jesus doesn't make sense to many here. How many OP's \ posts are about:
  • keeping the sabbath
  • God being evil, monstrous, a liar
  • proof of his claims about something i.e hell
  • Jesus' family consists of his disciples...that he didn't point to "all".
  • that his answer to Matthew 13:10 is reject\reasoned away today
"The knowledge of the secrets of the kingdom of heaven has been given to you....
but not to them." Matthew 13:11

It was to fulfill prophecy...Ezekial 17:2 etc...

Has nothing to do with secret elitist information.

You do prove one thing ..... Jesus knew what he was talking about:

Matthew 13:13
This is why I speak to them in parables: "Though seeing, they do not see; though hearing, they do not hear or understand."....In them is fulfilled the prophecy of Isaiah:

Ezekial ? ........"Though seeing, they do not see;"

But connecting the dots would probably be considered "bashing"

-- Really? I thought perhaps if we spoke in parables, we could exclude others from the kingdom. You mean Jesus was not sent into the world to exclude people from salvation?

LOL try looking up the reference...

Ezekiel 17:2 "Son of man, set forth an allegory and tell the house of Israel a parable."

also: Ezekiel 24:3 "Speak a parable to the rebellious house and say to them, 'Thus says the Lord GOD, "Put on the pot, put it on and also pour water in it;

The parables were spoken so that the House of Israel would be confounded.

The parables were explained to the disciples.... because without that they would have been left in the dark too...

BTW - I don't "bash" easy.

You'd think the kingdom was a closed door sorta club... wouldn't you?

One day a master came to his barn to check on the workers... but none were there because the shopkeeper only wanted perfect workers... alas not a perfect one was found. The shopkeeper was called a bad steward and fired. The next day the master hired a new shopkeeper and all imperfect workers. All was well again!

Proverbs 18:2
A fool finds no pleasure in understanding but delights in airing his own opinions.

So you're saying that you and katjonjj have a better understanding than Jesus.........
