For those that hear:
Scriptures are to be our guide, and the meat of God's words as keeping its original meaning, has been kept by those that loved Him and His words in the King James Bible. We are to lean on Lord Jesus for the wisdom in understanding His words in according to the faith we have in Jesus Christ.
When references to men are being made, no matter how eloquently they present their thesis, scriptures are to have the final authority.
2 Timothy 3:14
But continue thou in the things which thou hast learned and hast been assured of, knowing of whom thou hast learned them; 15And that from a child thou hast known the holy scriptures, which are able to make thee wise unto salvation through faith which is in Christ Jesus. 16All scripture is given by inspiration of God, and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness: 17That the man of God may be perfect, thoroughly furnished unto all good works.
: 11And he gave some, apostles; and some, prophets; and some, evangelists; and some, pastors and teachers; 12For the perfecting of the saints, for the work of the ministry, for the edifying of the body of Christ: 13Till we all come in the unity of the faith, and of the knowledge of the Son of God, unto a perfect man, unto the measure of the stature of the fulness of Christ: 14That we henceforth be no more children, tossed to and fro, and carried about with every wind of doctrine, by the sleight of men, and cunning craftiness, whereby they lie in wait to deceive; 15But speaking the truth in love, may grow up into him in all things, which is the head, even Christ:
Let the word of Christ dwell in you richly in all wisdom; teaching and admonishing one another in psalms and hymns and spiritual songs, singing with grace in your hearts to the Lord. 17And whatsoever ye do in word or deed, do all in the name of the Lord Jesus, giving thanks to God and the Father by him.
So are the psalms, hymns, and spiritual songs being all sung in the name of the Lord Jesus or in the name of the "Blessed Trinity" or in the name of the Person of the Holy Spirit? One cannot say they are obeying scriptures of doing ALL in the name of the Lord Jesus if it is being done in another name.
Has anyone ever wondered why in Matthew 28:18-20
that Jesus said what He did about baptizing in the name of the Father, of the Son, and of the Holy Ghost, but yet in Acts, the disciples were baptizing in the name of Jesus? It is because the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Ghost is Jesus as Jesus is the name of God to call upon to be saved. It did not say in the names of the Father and the Son, and of the Holy Ghost as in the plural sense but in the singular sense as in the name of: not in the names of. That is why the disciples were just baptizing in the name of Jesus.
If you note Matthew 28:18
, Jesus spoke that all power is given unto Him in heaven and in earth as it is the power of His name that saves, heals, and cast out devils. God as God is glorified through the name of Jesus. It is not the name of the "Blessed Trinity" or the name of the Person of the Holy Spirit: it is the name of Jesus which is why His name is above every other name.
And Jesus came and spake unto them, saying, All power is given unto me in heaven and in earth. 19Go ye therefore, and teach all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Ghost: 20Teaching them to observe all things whatsoever I have commanded you: and, lo, I am with you always, even unto the end of the world. Amen.
God has gotten personal with us through Jesus Christ. Dare we share the glory of the name of Jesus with any other name? Let us honour the Son as the Holy Spirit within us is leading us to do in according to the scriptures so that we may honour the Father that sent Him.
