I choose to drink in moderation, thus I don't get wasted enough for 'visions' of imaginary gods to invade my dreams.

I also smoked, started when they used to advertise about "doctors smoke this brand" and I too quit cold turkey, after 20 years. Probably was a little irritable for a while, but the nicotine addiction was gone in a week or so, even thought the 'habit' lasted for months. No demons blowing smoke in my face, and the desire to smoke was gone in 6 months. No gods, demons, or their sons involved.

I, as a reasoning, intelligent adult, made a logical decision based on the new evidence about how bad smoking is for your health.

not fake.

Going to parties, food feast, reunions, etc. are great fun ...
Jesus Christ went to many of these and feed thousand
and drank wine too.

IS IT OK TO DRINK WINE ?

Before we can answer let us first look and see if there are scriptures to answer this question from The Word Of God in the bible. As it is written in First Timothy 5:23: Drink no longer water, but use a little wine for thy stomach's sake and thine often infirmities. This is a statement Paul wrote to Timothy to give him instructions on how to take care of stomach problems and he also called it often infirmities, ( meaning weakness and sick conditions, possibly having even more than one )

Let us look at the wedding where Jesus had the beginning of his first miracles by turning water into wine. John 2:1-11; And the third day there was a marriage in Cana of Galilee; and the mother of Jesus was there: And both Jesus was called, and his disciples, to the marriage. And when they wanted wine, the mother of Jesus saith unto him, They have no wine. Jesus saith unto her, Woman, what have I to do with thee? mine hour is not yet come. His mother saith unto the servants, Whatsoever he saith unto you, do it. And there were set there six waterpots of stone, after the manner of the purifying of the Jews, containing two or three firkins apiece. Jesus saith unto them, Fill the waterpots with water. And they filled them up to the brim. And he saith unto them, Draw out now, and bear unto the governor of the feast. And they bare it. When the ruler of the feast had tasted the water that was made wine, and knew not whence it was: ( but the servants which drew the water knew ) the governor of the feast called the bridegroom, And saith unto him, Every man at the beginning doth set forth good wine; and when men have well drunk, then that which is worse: but thou hast kept the good wine until now. This beginning of miracles did Jesus in Cana of Galilee, and manifested forth his glory; and his disciples believed on him.

Notice the governor of the feast said; Every man at the beginning doth set forth good wine; and when men have well drunk, then that which is worse: but thou hast kept the good wine until now.

Now let us look and see just what good wine is.

Luke 5:37-39 And no man putteth new wine into old bottles; else the new wine will burst the bottles, and be spilled, and the bottles shall perish. But new wine must be put into new bottles; and both are preserved. No man also having drunk old wine straightway desireth new: for he saith, the old is better.

These people knew that old wine was not only good, but it was also the best wine. Also old wine is aged and has alcohol in it. Even New Wine Has Alcohol In It.

Older wine just has a better flavor, but the Alcohol is the same in both ! ! !

Here are some scriptures that warn not to be using to much wine at one time.

Ephesians 5:18; And be not drunk with wine, wherein is excess; but be filled with the Spirit;

First Timothy :3:8; Likewise must the deacons be grave, not doubletongued, not given to much wine, not greedy of filthy lucre;

Titus :2:3; The aged women likewise, that they be in behaviour as becometh holiness, not false accusers, not given to much wine, teachers of good things;

Notice that none of these verses say that you can not drink any wine. They do say that we are not to be drunk, wherein is excess (drinking to much). Also not to be given to much wine ( meaning not having control of how much a person has to drink for himself ).

To preach that it is sin and against The Will Of God to drink wine is false doctrine. No where in the New Testament does it teach that a person can not drink wine. The Holy Word Of God teaches us not to be drunk, by drinking to much wine.

Someone may ask how does one know if they have had enough to drink ?

According The Bible, God's children have the Holy Spirit to lead, guide, direct, teach, and to bring us into remembrance of all things Holy. The Holy Spirit will show a person when they have had enough to drink. Also every person is different. Some people may be able to drink more than others, and not get drunk. Some may not be able to drink at all. No where does the bible ( in the New Testament ) say that a person has to drink wine.

For those who have a problem with drinking, and not being able to control their drinking and getting drunk, Godly wisdom would be to not drink at all. This would be between God and that person.

The Answer to the Question: IS IT OK TO DRINK WINE ?

I believe according to what the Word Of God Teaches the answer is ( YES ) it is ok to drink wine ! ! !

But it is ( never ok ) to be drunk by drinking to much ! ! !

Wine is mostly proper for sickly and weak people, whose stomachs are often out of order, and who labour under infirmities.

Bible says: Give strong drink to him that is ready to perish, and wine to those that are of heavy hearts, Prov. 31:6. Wine should also be used as a help, and not a hindrance, to our work and usefulness.

Telling people that they can not smoke or chew tobacco is nothing more than man made doctrine and traditions also.

Mt:15:11: Not that which goeth into the mouth defileth a man; but that which cometh out of the mouth, this defileth a man.

Col:2:20: Wherefore if ye be dead with Christ from the rudiments of the world, why, as though living in the world, are ye subject to ordinances,
21: (Touch not; taste not; handle not;
22: Which all are to perish with the using after the commandments and doctrines of men?

DON'T KNOW WHAT YOU MEAN BY ... ETC.
Is that something you eat or wear ? ? ?
.

what's wrong w make up? it enhances your features,used properly.I'm not for overdoing it though.I don't think God really cares about such a minor thing in outward appearance anyway.I would be more concerned about revealing clothing.
that said,I don't think it's wrong,in moderation,to go to a party and drink;I don't think God cares much for smoking and ruining our lungs though.
I would think it would be more the behavior at the party and afterwards that God cares about.If you're just going to socialize and be w friends,I don't see anything wrong w that.no need to get too legalistic here.

Time for a glass of wine. Smoking is just dumb. Parties are fun.

Most of the women at the church in which I was raised, did wear some makeup and wore pants and had careers and education. We were taught that it was a sin to drink, smoke, and do drugs because of the damaging effects to body and soul. For example, if you drink too much you're going to develop cirrhosis of the liver or drive drunk or just become a boozer. If you smoke, you're going to ruin your lungs and maybe develop cancer or emphysema. If you do illicit drugs, that's just a bad idea any way you slice it. All of which prevent you from living life to its utmost potential. Hope that makes sense.

I wear makeup. I think it would be a sin if I didn't. Really, though, I wear just a little. You'd have to get close to inspect my face to see it. I also wear deodorant so as not to stink everyone out of the room and spend money on soap rather than bathing in just plain water. I use actual toothpaste rather than water and buy Q-Tips to clean my ears. I bought a washer and dryer so I wouldn't have to beat my clothes off rocks, and recently I bought a fairly cheap used car so I wouldn't have to walk everywhere. I don't dye my hair, drink, smoke, party, etc.

Okay, so maybe my response went a little overboard. It just seems to me that Christians can be judged way too easily for something like this. These types of luxuries, I think, are okay if they're actually being used. Wasteful spending, on the other hand, isn't. I think we're all guilty at some point of spending money on things we'll never use when that money could've gone to better use, Christians and non-Christians alike.

Am I 'allowed' to do all that? Sure.
I think it all really matters the state of your heart in reference to all that.
Wearing make up to attract a man thats not your husband, Partying to escape life, drinking to get drunk.
Anything that is a hinderance or stumbling block in your relationship to God is a sin.
