Here's some logic for you: God gave Christians brains and the ability to use reason. We know in this day and age that some people are born with different sexual orientations, just like we know now that women are just as capable of men of doing just about anything except peeing standing up and that lower IQ does not come along with darker skin.
We also know that what Jesus taught was not about who is doing what to whom with their nether parts, but rather about accepting as they are--because God does--and taking care of those among us who cannot take care of themselves and about caring for one another within our own communities.
People's sexual orientations are of no more importance than what type of clothing they wear.
Christ specifically forbade ANY hierarchy. Men instituted and promoted it for their purposes.

What else does the New Revised New Testament of New Age Thought have to say? Oh, wait...
The RCC has misused and misunderstood it so they use it as a ritual for initiating the Pope into office. But essentially Jesus said anyone among you who seeks to be first will be last. Instead of seeing it as the prohibition of hierarchy, the RCC used it as the ritual for establishing their hierarchy.

Thanks, nate. I didn't think it was necessary to cite specific verses since it was a general rebuke that Jesus made to His disciples and apostles who were always trying to know who should be first or in charge. But here are a few more:
Matthew 20:25-28King James Version (KJV)
25 But Jesus called them unto him, and said, Ye know that the princes of the Gentiles exercise dominion over them, and they that are great exercise authority upon them.
26 But it shall not be so among you: but whosoever will be great among you, let him be your minister;
27 And whosoever will be chief among you, let him be your servant:
28 Even as the Son of man came not to be ministered unto, but to minister, and to give his life a ransom for many.
Mark 10:42-43King James Version (KJV)
42 But Jesus called them to him, and saith unto them, Ye know that they which are accounted to rule over the Gentiles exercise lordship over them; and their great ones exercise authority upon them.
43 But so shall it not be among you: but whosoever will be great among you, shall be your minister:
Luke 22:25-27King James Version (KJV)
25 And he said unto them, The kings of the Gentiles exercise lordship over them; and they that exercise authority upon them are called benefactors.
26 But ye shall not be so: but he that is greatest among you, let him be as the younger; and he that is chief, as he that doth serve.
27 For whether is greater, he that sitteth at meat, or he that serveth? is not he that sitteth at meat? but I am among you as he that serveth.

He, he, he . . . I guess we can't assume familiarity with the Bible, Pleroo.
been saying it since '80. they want a church ... go let them make their own christian church and stop forcing their way into people's lives. Its rude.
a parent that rejects a gay child is a bad parent, I'd slap the parent around me self,
that doesn't give them the right to force their views on others.
