Its unfortunate, but many Christians today teach that Christ was a liar ...

They don't come right out and say it, but they teach that the things Christ himself taught are "lies from the pit of hell".

Luk 6:37 & 38
"Judge not, and you will not be judged; condemn not, and you will not be condemned; forgive, and you will be forgiven; give, and it will be given to you. Good measure, pressed down, shaken together, running over, will be put into your lap. For with the measure you use it will be measured back to you."

In the above passage, Christ plainly teaches that if a person does not judge others, then that person will not be judged, and if a person does not condemn others, then they will not be condemned. He teaches the if a person forgives others trespasses, then they will be forgiven their trespasses as well ...

But many Christians teach another gospel, adding to the words of Christ. They say that forgiving others is not enough, and having mercy is not enough. They teach that even if a person does not judge or condemn others, that is not enough to keep that person from being judged and condemned to everlasting misery and torments.

Many Christians add that we must keep all the commandments of the law, and entirely cease in our trespasses of the same law before we die, and become a member of a certain religion in order to receive mercy and be forgiven and escape judgment and condemnation.

It is the way of the traditions of men to pile heavy burdens on the backs of others, and to rule with fear and condemnation. It is not enough for them that we should love one another, but they require a sacrifice, even though Christ himself said he requires mercy and not sacrifice(Mat 9:13,Mat 12:7).

The religions of men which Christ ultimately came to abolish, instead of easing the burden of others and looking past the weaknesses of all people, play on the weaknesses of people and use them to extort them and control them and keep them in bondage to fear and self loathing.

Be free of the bondage and fear of the religions and traditions of men, and instead of trying to live up to the expectations of men, simply do unto others as you would have them do unto you. And when you have moments of weakness and fall, forgive yourself and others the same ...

Peace ...

I think you're right. Religion is man-made- living spiritually is innate and requires NO rules, nor any adjustments to what are (or should be) very simply ethics and tenets to live by. If one were to outline all that jesus really believed and was trying to get across- it could be contained in one single page. But leave it to man to try to over-complicate things, and infer and make assumptions about things that are already clear as day...

I've come to learn that a good many "christians" prefer to refer to the bible and the content therein as a means to guide them instead of living by the teachings and tenets of jesus christ. What jesus taught is VERY contrary to a good portion of the bible, even though many people who claim to love jesus are the literal and polar opposite of all that he taught, and all that he hoped human beings could/would be.

Of course jesus NEVER wanted any religion started in his name, nor did he want to be worshipped; he was steadfast and firm in that what he taught was about becoming spiritually evolved and a way of living and existing- NOT a religion. So it's really no surprise that some people are picking and choosing, and adding to jesus' words and doctrines in order to connect some imaginary dots between some backwards, and spiritually detrimental parts of the bible to other man- made beliefs.

About jesus being a liar, specifically; I do want to add something he once said (and forgive me, I cannot reference this) something along the lines of: "I am either the son of god, or I am a liar". Well- I definitely believe jesus to be A son of god- but of course I believe him that, in HIS mind, he was THE son of god for he could know of no other (internet and books to reference the "other" sons of god weren't around yet).

Anyway to me, it is a shame that people who call themselves christians rarely act as christ would. He was on heck of an amazing human and if we could all take even just a LITTLE of what he stood for and applied it- we'd all be living in a much kinder, and happier world.

Meaning: Judge not, because if you do, you will be judged for the sin of judging others.

The verse does not mean that if you avoid judging people, then you will not be judged for any other sins.

The verse is a basic teaching of how to live like a Christian, it is not a message of salvation. The Bible is loaded with messaged of salvation and John 3:16 is the most often quoted one: For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life.

Read Matthew: "For in the same way you judge others, you will be judged, and with the measure you use, it will be measured to you". Clearly it is advice against hypocritical judgment made by people who critisize others for sinning, when they are sinning themselves.

Unfortunately you cannot save yourself by simply avoiding certain sins such as judging others. Only Christ can save you, you cannot save yourself.

You don't judge others, but you will know them by their fruit so you can separate from the unrighteous. There's one who will judge, and He said vengeance is mine, I will repay.

2 Corinthians 6
[14] Be ye not unequally yoked together with unbelievers: for what fellowship hath righteousness with unrighteousness? and what communion hath light with darkness?

It's all about loving yourself and each other. Loving God and becoming perfect. We are just a works in progress and those who condemn, judge, unforgive, show no mercy and those who do not love one another are also doing the same to God. We are His children, created from love for love.

The majority of us have forgotten where it is we came from. They don't realize that each and everyone of us is striving for the same thing. It may be a different path than another, but we are all on the same journey back to where we came from.

You are adding to the words of Christ, just like most other religious zealots and extremists who cannot accept the words of Christ as they are.

Christ saves us from the wages of sin, which is death. And everyone dies, even those who will not be judged or condemned.

Unbelievers are bound to their sin, unable to even acknowledge sin. Believers, though we sin, acknowledge the truth of our sin and confess our sin. Being unequally yoked together with unbelievers is to not acknowledge the fact that you sin and to be unable or unwilling to confess your sin.

Someone who is in bondage to sin does not even recon his sin to be sin ...
