Take a look at what Paul said regarding what you asked...
I would not trade my eternal salvation for anyone. Everyone is personally responsible for their own decisions and the consequences of those decisions. But presenting such scenarios as you have is meaningless and without purpose. Reality is what it is and I will stick with reality rather then indulge in fantasy. Those who believe in Christ will spend eternity with God and those who die without Christ will spend eternity in the lake of fire.
And people in the lake of fire will not be poked by demons metaphorically or otherwise. Unbelieving humanity and the fallen angels will all be in the same boat. Satan will not rule in the lake of fire. He and the fallen angels will simply be in the same hopeless condition as unbelieving humanity.
Read Revelation 20 Mike and you will see that the lake of fire is actually created by fire from Heaven. Where does that fire fall to create the lake? Earth. So where is the Lake of Fire? Earth. Now continue on to Revelation 21, and you will notice that God will then make a new Earth and the old one will pass away. So, if God is going to create a new Earth and the Old one will be no more, wouldn't that indicate that the Lake of Fire would be no more as well?
Maybe you can tell me Mike, as someone who believes in eternal torment, how can this universe ever know peace and tranquility if somewhere there will exist beings in perpetual torment? How can that possibly mesh with there being no more pain, suffering, or tears? And how does it paint a picture of a loving God?

Mike will probably tell you that Isaiah 66:24 and that last bit in Revelation about the dogs etc being outside the city 'prove' that right next to heaven there'll be a burning lake where the Lamb and the Saints all go down to watch the damned like some Roman Circus.

When your mind is conformed to that of God's, you will understand...
See, Mike...This is what happens when Christians read mostly the New Testament and very little of the Old Testament...they get very unbalanced ideas of God's attributes...
