I hope they turn it into a homeless shelter.

All empires eventually fall. Mega churches are full because mega preachers bring in the crowds. When the mega preacher retires or quits in scandal, the crowds go elsewhere. Often what happens is that the son takes over the church and is not really the preacher that the dad was. Being a good preacher cannot be learned. It is a gift- or talent- that you either have or don't have.

I did, all of my houses. Also I pay cash when I buy a car. Then again, I'm not a christian.

Well, I met Robert Sr. when I was young. At that point I'd written an article to his magazine and it was published. My thinking at that time was to move to Garden Grove and support the ministry. I've been to CC so I am no stranger to it.

Still, over the years, (and though I wasn't crazy about Robert A's preaching) I still have to wonder what happened there. I mean, here is a preeminent family who cannot get their differences squared away? This is why I asked if anyone really knew what happened. It's sad, and for as pretty as the CC is, in this day and age we really need homeless shelters more than skyscrapers as a monument to God.

I read that the senior pastor retired and basically handed over responsibility to his son who is also a minister. Then they had some major falling out and the son left the congregation. Then the daughter took over as minister; she is also ordained but the church began to lose significant contributions during this time.

Spirit of lack can be a menas, but if you let the babel system rule over the finance of Jesus Church then sometime Jesus can not help. Christians must listen to Lord Jesus because all he can do when Babel banking morgages is encourage you to pay it down as fast as possible. There are some Ministries who do not have any Morgages at all......

Yes, I've read all that too, but I was hoping for more info. And I read that Robert Sr. fired his son, not that his son just left. I also read that maybe Robert Sr. wanted to retain too much control and that caused a problem.

I also read that white flight has taken place and maybe some the congregants moved away and that this is why contributions went down.

I don't think we'll ever know the real story.
