Finn don't you think you have to be a believer to sin willfully? A non-believer usually doesn't acknowledge that something is a sin.
Unbelievers are condemned already, because they have not believed on the only begotten Son of God.
For believers, they must abide in the Word, or else they are nothing more than believing sinners who will be cut down and cast into the furnace of fire (Hell).

I think what sophialee is saying is how can an unbeliever acknowledge they are willfully sinning , when they don't acknowledge sin at all, in the way christians do.
Just to clarify condemnation as well . Jesus said that he did not come into the world to condemn it, he goes on to say we condemn ourselves and remain under our own condemnation until we believe. There are multitudes out there under condemnation because of the misrepresentation of where condemnation comes from,it's not God condemning us "we condemn ourselves", and yet in our obsession with sin and damnation , we keep those under condemnation condemned through unknowingly lying to them that God is condemning them.

This attitude of so many seems to glory in one's sin with no real attempt to draw upon Jesus' grace to the crucifying of the flesh. Jesus knows who are His and who aren't.
And they that are Christ's have crucified the flesh with the affections and lusts. - Galatians 5:24
...Let every one that nameth the name of Christ depart from iniquity. - 2 Timothy 2:19
I yam what I yam--Popeye.
Ye are saved through grace, not by works, lest men should boast.
All have sinned, and come short of the glory of God.
God so loved the world that He gave his only begotten son...whomsoever believeth in Him shall not perish, but have life everlasting.
Sorry, I can't give you the chapter and verse on those, but you get the idea.
1 John 2:3-6 can explain whether you are "in" or "out". Romans 1:29-32 lists a whole group of behaviors that comdemn us to death. I believe I am guilty of every single one of them. I have lived most of my adult life with the "anything goes as long as it feels good" philosophy. Love of the world if you will ((1 John 2:15). In my walk I have gained a victory over physical manifestations of those things. However, even though I know longer give my body over to those things I am entertained by those who do (end of Romans chap 1). Therefore, I sin. I have memories that the enemy puts before my eyes and I relish them. Therefore I sin. In short, I struggle with the sins of my mind. No one else sees them but God does. I have struggled with pornography, infidelity, drunkeness, lewdness, profanity, physically assaulting others. I have been married 5 times. After receiving the Holy Spirit however, I am changed forever. For 5 years now (with my 5th wife) I no longer desire those things in my life. I hate them. I live by these words, "if you always do what you've always done, you will always be what you've always been". We (believers) must be different. You cannot claim to be a Christian and live no differently from everyone else in the world.

Amen. Yes indeed the Holy Spirit makes us so sensitive to sin that it becomes a second nature to stay a way from habitual sin. We still sin, but the sensitivity drives us back on the right path.
77 or so responses and not one person admitted lust. Someone is not coming clean here.
Actually I did admit to lust. It has driven me most of my adult life. Lust is a powerful thing. It destroyed 4 of my marriages and almost destroyed the 5th.

People who still willfully sin are not saved by grace.

Willful sinners are not believing on the Son of God; because if they were, they would obey.
