We also commanded to love out enemies. I know that nobody can really do that. It is impossible. Is that considered disobeying that command?

The chapter talks about people who continue to live in willful and habitual sin, and therefore are not saved.

1 John 3 No one who lives in him keeps on sinning. No one who continues to sin has either seen him or known him.

No one who is born of God will continue to sin, because God’s seed remains in them; they cannot go on sinning, because they have been born of God. This is how we know who the children of God are and who the children of the devil are: Anyone who does not do what is right is not God’s child, nor is anyone who does not love their brother and sister.
this is it here

I believe that loving our enemies is ....... would you turn them away in their need, hunger, thirst, a place to rest, and most of all praying for them, that is the will of God.
We are not told we need to rub shoulder's with them or, try to be their BFF. But to forgive and love them in a way that is best for them...... regardless of what they may have said or done ! Yes, it maybe difficult but not impossible with the help of God's grace and truly that is the only way we can, amen !

It's not impossible. Though, it seems that way.

"How do we "destroy" our enemies? By making them our friends." - if even only in OUR hearts, and in OUR eyes. A person may still hate YOU, but that doesn't mean you have to hate them. Hate is on the wide road to destruction. Love is truth. It is this truth that remains on the path to life. Hatred is caused by ignorance. Ignorance of love. If all people loved and WERE loved, there would be no enemies.

Perhaps we are to strive to love our enemies, so that we do not harbor hatred in our hearts. If we are striving to actually LOVE our enemies, we are letting the Holy Spirit work in our **heart**, where we can gain a different perspective on our "enemies". We can gain compassion (trying to see them in a different light, seeing them as human with human weaknesses and struggles just as we have), gentleness, kindness, long-suffering, patience towards them. (love)

God IS love.

When we STRIVE to love... we are becoming more and more knowledgable of the Creator.

Love God.
Love your neighbor.

It is simple, yet profound.
The message Jesus came to give us, is so drowned out by religion, but His voice remains steadfast and his message marches on. The still, quiet voice in the midst of the cacophony of our carnal human voices.

Love wins in the end.
The still quiet voice that speaks to our hearts will become more and more apparent as we "pipe down" and just listen.

Just some thoughts,
sparrow

Amen sparrow. To the believer all things are possible, we can do all things through Christ who strengthens us.

The Jews believe it will not last longer than 11 month in hell, the Catholics have to pray to get out there as soon as possible, I think people have to pay for it. UR says it last for an eon. Than they are resurrected in the second resurrection and judged and every one that is not written in the book of life is thrown into the lake of fire.
Gnashing of teeth is ultimate regret and remorse when our selfish ignorance and obliviousness to the full extent of the harm we did is revealed in the light of God's pure love. WE will hate ourselves for what we did and cannot ever undo. Our understanding will grow as we experience every unrepented negative thing we ever did to others and like the Grinch "our heart will grow ten times its size" . . . j/k

You are wrong.

Malachi 3:1-3 King James Version (KJV)

3 Behold, I will send my messenger, and he shall prepare the way before me: and the Lord, whom ye seek, shall suddenly come to his temple, even the messenger of the covenant, whom ye delight in: behold, he shall come, saith the Lord of hosts.

2 But who may abide the day of his coming? and who shall stand when he appeareth? for He is like a refiner's fire, and like fullers' soap:

3 AndHe shall sit as a refiner and purifier of silver: and He shall purify the sons of Levi, and purge them as gold and silver, that they may offer unto the Lord an offering in righteousness.

How do you get rid of the hatred that a person has, when it is with every breath they take. But you are not a mouthy person so most people dont know what is wrong with you.

How many times does anyone have to miss the mark before it is considered...... Keeps on sinning ?. This kind of thinking is designed to excuse yourself so that you are justified in condemning others. Forgive them Lord for they know not what they do....... Do you believe those that willfully sin know what they are doing?.... Or would you prefer to believe the truth that Jesus spoke?.

Jesus says turn the other cheek, or ignore your enemy to avoid a fight.
