Do Americans believe in a different Jesus? A Jesus that believes violence is sometimes justified? A Jesus that accepts the US Army as His Holy Army?
In many cases, it seems so. It is a perilous world we're in. A whole lot of livelihoods are kept up by the making of war. It's a huge racket. I don't see that changing until mankind is no longer subject to mortality. Great conversation you've started.
Why are American Christians generally militaristic when Christianity is a pacifist belief system?
Why in the world would anyone believe christians are passive?????? The KKK is a christian organization, so is the American Nazi Party. They may not be the brightest people in the world, but.....they surely know how to get violent!
There are some exceptions (Amish, Quakers, and Mennonites, along with some individual Christians in America), but for the most part, Christians in America are very pro-military and often rather pro-war.
This baffles me because Jesus is the man who told people to turn the other cheek. He was even more of a pacifist than Gandhi was. I'm sure if Jesus lived in the 21st century, he wouldn't condemn people in the US Military (Jesus didn't condemn anyone), but I certainly think he would oppose the military and what it does.

Jesus said His Kingdom was not of this world. Furthermore, Jesus would have been a pacifist because He didn't believe in repaying evil for evil. Also, Jesus would have acknowledged that all kingdoms of this world belong to Satan. But above all it is said that that the Christian was is NOT against flesh and blood which also throws out the doctrine of eternal torment as well. Therefore, since war is against flesh and blood it is not of God's direction but that of mans.
most WHITE christians are pro war, hispanics 50/50, blacks.....very few
why?.............
So what percentage of the WHITE Christians are red headed and which are blond and which are brunette. After that which ones have moles on their faces and then after that which ones have the fastest 40 meter run speed. Also, after that which ones have the most wealth, And after that which ones have the greatest criminal record.
I mean after all why does skin color mean so much to YOU? Why not EYE color, or whether or not one is circumcised? How about if your color-blind? Where does that land you?

Please. They are not Christian organizations, they are nuts who use a twisted version of God as a way to control their followers.
well,I certainly think it was GOD who helped Israel win the '67 war,and every war in between. And He says He will again come to their aid in the future.
this is not the same as turning the other cheek...far from it.there's a time to fight, and a time to turn..two completely different things.
The US has a history of interfering, not defending...
