Hi everyone!
What happened at Calvary? Did God mean it when He sent His Son to be the Savior of the WORLD? Or did He fail??

No, He didn't fail. He did something to you and me and all of creation that none of us could ever do: He justified us and gave us Life-- freely! Without your asking, searching or trying!

"1 And you hath he quickened, who were dead in trespasses and sins; 2 Wherein in time past ye walked according to the course of this world, according to the prince of the power of the air, the spirit that now worketh in the children of disobedience:
3 Among whom also we all had our conversation in times past in the lusts of our flesh, fulfilling the desires of the flesh and of the mind; and were by nature the children of wrath, even as others.
4 But God, who is rich in mercy, for his great love wherewith he loved us,
5 Even when we were dead in sins, hath quickened us together with Christ, (by grace ye are saved
6 And hath raised us up together, and made us sit together in heavenly places in Christ Jesus:
7 That in the ages to come he might shew the exceeding riches of his grace in his kindness toward us through Christ Jesus.
8 For by grace are ye saved through faith; and that not of yourselves: it is the gift of God:
9 Not of works, lest any man should boast.
10 For we are his workmanship, created in Christ Jesus unto good works, which God hath before ordained that we should walk in them." (Eph. 2)

Who is dead in sin? All mankind. (See Romans 5)

What did God do to "those who were dead in sins"?

1) quickened us
2) raised us up together
3) made us sit together in heavenly places in Christ Jesus.

These God did to all mankind while it lay dead in sin.

This is the work of justification which God has done to mankind, as it is written: "16 And not as it was by one that sinned, so is the gift: for the judgment was by one to condemnation, but the free gift is of many offences unto justification.
17 For if by one man's offence death reigned by one; much more they which receive abundance of grace and of the gift of righteousness shall reign in life by one, Jesus Christ.)
18 Therefore as by the offence of one judgment came upon all men to condemnation; even so by the righteousness of one the free gift came upon all men unto justification of life.
19 For as by one man's disobedience many were made sinners, so by the obedience of one shall many be made righteous.
20 Moreover the law entered, that the offence might abound. But where sin abounded, grace did much more abound:
21 That as sin hath reigned unto death, even so might grace reign through righteousness unto eternal life by Jesus Christ our Lord.
"(Rom. 5)

Adam "polluted" mankind 100 percent.

- But Christ has purified mankind 110 percent!! Hallelujah!

Can you give God A-L-L the glory today, friends? Can you see that it is GOD who is working, it is HE who saves, it is HE who justifies?

Isaiah 57:
"16 For I will not contend for ever, neither will I be always wroth: for the spirit should fail before me, and the souls which I have made. 17 For the iniquity of his covetousness was I wroth, and smote him: I hid me, and was wroth, and he went on frowardly in the way of his heart.
18 I have seen his ways, and will heal him: I will lead him also, and restore comforts unto him and to his mourners.
19 I create the fruit of the lips; Peace, peace to him that is far off, and to him that is near, saith the LORD; and I will heal him."

It is GOD who creates confession in the mouths of men. NO MAN can call Jesus "LORD" but by the Holy Ghost. If you are a Christian, know that you are a Christian because of what God is doing in you, nothing else.

I hope we can indeed see that we have nothing of ourselves by which to obtain merit. It is Christ who merits ALL the praise!

Blessings,
brian

I believe that a reconcilation of the world began at Calvary . I actually believe it is accomplished in God's mind. So i no longer see condemnation upon mankind, because as far as God is concerned it's accomplished in God's mind, because He's a faith God, "Who calls the things that are not as though they were".

Just to had to this, God said he made Abraham a Father of many nations, even before Sara had conceived.

No longer will you be called Abram; your name will be Abraham, for I have made you a father of many nations.

Did you know that your post is BEAUTIFUL??
I got to thinking about the many verses (I should sit and list them all!..) where God declares that He covers sin. He doesn't want to look at it. Love also covers sin. No, a MULTITUDE of sins.

Can you hear that, folks?!?!

Blessings!
Brian

Brian, when I saw your topic "What exaclty happened at calvary?", I thought you had a question.

However, based on your post, you seem to have all the answers you need.

Did you really have a question in the first place?
