The modern definition of paganism is any religion that is not one of the three Abrahamic religions.
Anything that anyone believed prior to these religions could be considered Pagan.
Beings that pagan is not Abrahamic, then there is no Satan in the belief.
Regardless of the history of religion and belief in humanity, I can see how Christians would say that ANYTHING that is not of/from the bible/god is Satanic based.
Which is unfortunate since many good people are not religious.
Satan is hebrew for the accuser or the adversary...simply...and is actually used by God for testing man...

Yes, I know this...and the Hebrew language took the word from the Arabic language 'Shaitan'.
...maybe you misunderstood my post? Someone else said 'satan came from paganism' and I was saying...no it does not, pagans do not believe in the devil.

And 'Lucifer' comes from Latin 'lux' meaning light. Lucifer is the 'bringer of light'. The Greeks called the planet Venus Lucifer because it was the 'star' that was seen just before dawn, hence 'Morning Star'.

Funny how things can get lost (and twisted) in translation.

personally I think the 'devil' is our own egos gone haywire....'the devil made me do it...' give me a break!

They did not neccessarily get it from arabic....Rather being that Ishmael and Isacc were brothers and spoke the same language at the time...so, it would be a logical conclusion that the Arabic and Hebrew languages diversed widely...After all they are both semitic languages...

There were only two tongues in ancient Mesopotamia.....Akkadian and Sumerian...both had serpents as divine beings.....Sumerians believed it was a god, and Akkadians believed in was an adversary to their God....I capitalized God...because Akkadian's had a pre-Semitic tongue...Sumerians...did not.

Guess which God the Akkadian's worshiped?

Since this is in the Christian forum, there is the bias that "New Age" is "bad" (i.e., evil).

New age actually refers to the Age of Aquarius as opposed to Pisces . . . it has to do with the Earth vibrating at a different frequency. I don't expect anyone who has contributed thus far to understand.

It is all in perception...My enemy may percieve my guardian angel as a demon...To the Ancients...Demons and Angels were interchangeable....
