Phillip "preached the gospel" to the Ethiopian. Result --> Ethiopian wanted to be baptized.

Clearly the gospel - at least in part - deals with salvation through repentance and baptism

Gospel has nothing to do with water baptism or repentance. The Ethiopian believed before he was baptized by water, that was merely a public confession that he received what was taught by Philip. Again, the Gospel was taught, explained. The Gospel is about what God hath done to save His People, not about any duties man must do.

Those who in any wise add any kind of duty or performance of any kind man must do to get saved, has corrupted the Gospel of God's Grace, thats the very reason why I began this thread, one of them any way.

Of course. To understand the words that someone says and to believe and receive those words are two different things.

The point I'm trying to impress upon you is that the words of the Gospel do not need to change, nor do they need to be re-defined and re-interpreted by man. The words of the Gospel simply need to be proclaimed as Paul had written them down and as Jesus commanded us to do so. The words "our sins" carry no misunderstanding, not even for children. Try telling someone the words of the Gospel. They'll know what the words mean. They may not accept (ie: believe and receive) those words (that is the work of the Spirit), but they'll understand what those words tell them.

You don't really believe the Gospel SBSG. And quite frankly you testify of your unbelief in your posts. It's clearly evident that you have a need to constantly re-define the words of the Gospel, re-word them and repackage them to fit your preconceived doctrines. You really do not believe the Gospel. You understand what the words say, however you do not believe them. You know this as well as I do.

Ask yourself. Can you go to all the world and say:

Christ died for "our sins". You and me. "Our sins". Can you say those words, just like Paul did? And can you say those words like a child can?

No they are not. Not in this matter especially. Matt 13:

23But he that received seed into the good ground is he that heareth the word, and understandeth it; which also beareth fruit, and bringeth forth, some an hundredfold, some sixty, some thirty.

Yes, this type of understanding is spiritually receiving what is spiritually being heard.

Do you think the Jews misunderstood Jesus when He said that God was His Father, or that He was the Christ or that He and His Father were One? Do you think the Jews were throwing rocks at Jesus and crucified Him due to a miss understanding of what He said?

"Gospel" is from the greek word, "god-spell," meaning "good news."

To me now, gospel is being spiritually "born again & again..." into helpful, new perspectives.
Our purpose is to progress through love, which is based on understanding.
Searching our souls, seeking new perspectives & loving ourselves as others is applying the gospel.

Election in the Gospel of God's Grace !

Paul states Election as the First Blessing named Eph 1:3-4

3Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, who hath blessed us with all spiritual blessings in heavenly places in Christ:

4According as he hath chosen us in him before the foundation of the world, that we should be holy and without blame before him in love:

The word Chosen is the greek word eklegomai:

to pick out, choose, to pick or choose out for one's self

Its in the middle voice, meaning He has Chosen for Himself !

This also denotes God's intimate foreknowledge of these Chosen for Himself, He knew them by Name. The word Chosen is made of the root word legō:

to call by name, to call, name

f) to speak out, speak of, mention

This has to do with their names being written in the Lambs book of Life.[ Rev 13:8;17:8] Thats what to be foreknown means.

The Father Chose a multitude of sinners unto Salvation in Christ before the world began. He chose us to make them Holy Experimentally [A work of the Spirit in Us and for Us] and to be without blame before Him in Love. And He of course will accomplish His Eternal Purpose of Grace unto them. Eph 5:27 and Jude 1:24-25

Yes indeed (again and again) from glory to glory. Love changes everything it touches into a glorious and beautiful thing.

I fret not that paradise was lost, rather...I rejoice that Paradise is restored in the end because of unconditional love.

~That once of old, shall God lift to endless unity....

Peace!

Predestination is preached in the Gospel of God's Grace !

Next, Paul sets forth Predestination as a blessing of God's Grace, Eph 1:4-5

4According as he hath chosen us in him before the foundation of the world, that we should be holy and without blame before him in love:

5Having predestinated us unto the adoption of children by Jesus Christ to himself, according to the good pleasure of his will,

According to the Good pleasure of HIS WILL ! The false teachers of our day, speak that God does these things according to mans freewill. Lets look at this phrase however "according to His will" or similar statements in this book !

Eph 1:9

Having made known unto us the mystery of his will, according to his good pleasure which he hath purposed in himself:

11 In whom also we have obtained an inheritance, being predestinated according to the purpose of him who worketh all things after the counsel of his own will:

Now, In Eternal Love for His Chosen, The Father predestinated all of them to the open adoption and glorious liberty of the Children of God.

Rom 8:21-23

21Because the creature itself also shall be delivered from the bondage of corruption into the glorious liberty of the children of God.

22For we know that the whole creation groaneth and travaileth in pain together until now.

23And not only they, but ourselves also, which have the firstfruits of the Spirit, even we ourselves groan within ourselves, waiting for the adoption, to wit, the redemption of our body.

This of course leads us into Paul's third blessing of Grace Adoption. The word is made up of Two greek words:

huios which means Son and the word tithemi which means to set or to place hence to place or set as a Son.

Now this initially occurred with Election in the Son before the world began Eph 1:4 and it is made manifest in time by the providence of predestination, its manifested by their Faith in time and will be manifested by their glorification, which includes the redemption of their bodies as per Rom 8:23.

These truths are proclaimed in the Gospel of God's Grace. Paul said the Colossians heard of these things by the Gospel preached unto them Col 1:4-5

4Since we heard of your faith in Christ Jesus, and of the love which ye have to all the saints,

5For the hope which is laid up for you in heaven, whereof ye heard before in the word of the truth of the gospel;

This lets us know, that the Gospel Paul Preached was detailed and extensive, and spoke of Glorious Truths and Eternal Hope and an Inheritance in Heaven 1 Pet 1:3-4

3Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, which according to his abundant mercy hath begotten us again unto a lively hope by the resurrection of Jesus Christ from the dead,

4To an inheritance incorruptible, and undefiled, and that fadeth not away, reserved in heaven for you,

This is part of the Gospel Message, though its not mentioned in portions like 1 Cor 15:1-4, yet thats because those portions are not exhaustive of all what entails the Gospel of God's Grace.
