For some bizarre reason, telling pastors and preachers that someday everyone will serve the LORD really makes them angry..

It's like they think they're "special," or that they are the Ones who have the final say in God's plans for the ages!

Just a thought.

Blessings,
brian

Why is it "Christians" are often some of the most intolerant people one can meet? Is it because their God is intolerant?

Love to hear your thoughts (and a big "thank you" for city-data for their tolerance of differing points of view!)

YES, a great big THANK YOU to City-Data for their tolerance of differing viewpoints.....geez Louise it's tough out there for UR's!!

I recently joined another site to talk about Jesus being the Savior of the world also and they haven't banned me (yet) but they are some of the meanest, cruelest and hateful people I've ever seen, and call themselves Christians to boot. They are definitely intolerant and have "moved" the topic of Universalism to "cults and other religions" forum. That really ticked me off but it didn't stop the ETer's from coming into the Universalism sub-forum and picking nasty fights. It seems to be the main goal of those particular people to harass and belittle and moving UR to "cults" was a major slap in the face. I know how you feel/felt Brian.

A little bit of tolerance goes a long way.

Why?

Because I told people that Jesus Christ was the Savior of the world.

They told me to write them if I was interested in discussing the issue. And I was.
So I wrote.

This is (part of) what I got in response:

"Dear ahigherway,

Thank you for taking the time to request a review of your status with
our Community after being temporarily banned for engaging in sustained
promotion of teaching contrary to Christianity. Before progressing
further, I would like to ask you a few questions.

1. What have you learned during your absence from our Community, and how
do you hope to apply it in any future participation?

2. Do you agree to refrain from participating in any discussion having
anything to do with faith, Christianity, doctrine, theology, salvation,
hell, etc?

3. Do you agree to not link to your website?

4. Have you reviewed our Terms of Service, and do you promise to conduct
yourself in our Community in a manner that conforms to the rules of conduct as outlined therein?" (etc. etc...)

(And note, I did check their list of doctrines before registering: no mention of NOT talking about salvation of all.)

Why should it suprprise you? Most Christians sites want to discuss the Bible and faith, and they do not want people teaching what most consider a false teaching Moderator cut: deleted

The scriptures tell us...... For we cannot do anything against the truth, but only for the truth 2 Cor13:8. So i cannot understand for the life of me why they would silence anyone sharing what they believe to be truth. To me it just exposes that all they have is a belief and no substance, a form of godliness but denying the power of. The Golden Calf(tradition) is the natural mind's interpretation of the scripture.

It is the "My God's bigger than your God" syndrome. Of course their is only one God and he is God of all the earth - but many people do not realize that, thus the fleshly "battle for God" ensues.
