Twin where do you get this notion that believers are comfortable with sin.A believers focus is Jesus, not sin. This is because the believer is God conscious not sin conscious, what is your focus on(whats in your wallet ?). Do you not see that all your talk about sin is drawing attention to it(sin), and away from the answer.... I am, the way, the truth and the life. You are pointing folk to the wrong thing.

Behold the Lamb of God

The good news is not a mixed message, it's a message of glad tidings and great joy period.

Read this prophecy below, and remember Egypt was the oppressor, not counted as God's people (originally):

Isaiah 19
19 In that day there will be an altar to the LORD in the heart of Egypt, and a monument to the LORD at its border.
20 It will be a sign and witness to the LORD Almighty in the land of Egypt. When they cry out to the LORD because of their oppressors, he will send them a savior and defender, and he will rescue them.
21 So the LORD will make himself known to the Egyptians, and in that day they will acknowledge the LORD. They will worship with sacrifices and grain offerings; they will make vows to the LORD and keep them.
22 The LORD will strike Egypt with a plague; he will strike them and heal them. They will turn to the LORD, and he will respond to their pleas and heal them.

23 In that day there will be a highway from Egypt to Assyria. The Assyrians will go to Egypt and the Egyptians to Assyria. The Egyptians and Assyrians will worship together.
24 In that day Israel will be the third, along with Egypt and Assyria, a blessing on the earth.
25 The LORD Almighty will bless them, saying, “Blessed be Egypt my people, Assyria my handiwork, and Israel my inheritance.”

Read all of Isaiah 19 to see what happens to Egypt before this. But by the end, Egypt will become God's people, along with Assyria - referred to as "God's handiwork", and of course Israel.

We can see there was a purpose for affliction.

Believers can become comfortable with being bullies too. There are different perspectives of negative comfort that need afflicted by the good news.

"Behold the Lamb of God" for what pcamps? .... what was John's focus and Jesus' ......"to take away the sins"

People who reject Jesus don't "behold the Lamb of God" to take away their sins.

It's not my mission to get you to see the balance of scripture. You're like my nephew...before he drove a car, he could not be convinced that tires need to be balanced. He always seem to have obscure\odd comebacks every time.

"The good news is not a mixed message" ----- you just don't get it.

I would say you don't get it friend .

Twin i purposely left off to take away the sins to prove a point. Jesus did not go around telling folk what dirty rotten sinners they were .

Read this below and get back to me and tell me who was pointing out sin, better still where you are coming from, which character in this story depicts you best.

Now one of the Pharisees invited Jesus to have dinner with him, so he went to the Pharisee’s house and reclined at the table. When a woman who had lived a sinful life in that town learned that Jesus was eating at the Pharisee’s house, she brought an alabaster jar of perfume, and as she stood behind him at his feet weeping, she began to wet his feet with her tears. Then she wiped them with her hair, kissed them and poured perfume on them.
When the Pharisee who had invited him saw this, he said to himself, “If this man were a prophet, he would know who is touching him and what kind of woman she is—that she is a sinner.”
Jesus answered him, “Simon, I have something to tell you.”
“Tell me, teacher,” he said.
“Two men owed money to a certain moneylender. One owed him five hundred denarii, and the other fifty. Neither of them had the money to pay him back, so he canceled the debts of both. Now which of them will love him more?”
Simon replied, “I suppose the one who had the bigger debt canceled.”
“You have judged correctly,” Jesus said.
Then he turned toward the woman and said to Simon, “Do you see this woman? I came into your house. You did not give me any water for my feet, but she wet my feet with her tears and wiped them with her hair. You did not give me a kiss, but this woman, from the time I entered, has not stopped kissing my feet. You did not put oil on my head, but she has poured perfume on my feet. Therefore, I tell you, her many sins have been forgiven—for she loved much. But he who has been forgiven little loves little.”
Then Jesus said to her, “Your sins are forgiven.”
The other guests began to say among themselves, “Who is this who even forgives sins?”
Jesus said to the woman, “Your faith has saved you; go in peace.”

Now Twin are you Simon the one pointing out sin ?, Do you have the same as heart that Jesus had around those labelled sinners ?, or are you the one labelled a sinner ?

Twin Spin read Acts chapter 2 and then get back to me about what you think Peter preached on that wonderful day of Pentecost.

Do you think telling them what a bunch of no good sinners would have worked in the same manner in which Peter preached by ?

Confronting sin in either one's own life is not negative comfort. To change a lifestyle or a sinful habit to conform to God's word takes confrontation.
Romans 13:12
The night is nearly over; the day is almost here. So let us put aside the deeds of darkness and put on the armor of light.

It is a daily struggle between the good that I want vs the evil that I do. The more I realize how much I'm a sinner, the more precious the Good news is...and so is the opposite. The less I realize how much of a sinner I am, the less I value a need for a savior (the good news).

If Jesus is not an example....he is a subsitute.

I'll read it ... but I knew why you purposely left off "take away the sins" because exactly ...it wouldn't prove your point. (Which is exactly my purpose for including it)

This tells me a lot Twin, why you believe what you do. It's because of how you perceive yourself "The more I realize how much I'm a sinner". The said truth Twin is, because you see yourself that way you cannot possibly love yourself, and the scripture tells us to love our neighbor as yourself. When you see yourself how God see's you, you will learn to love yourself, and then freely share his love too.

You are believing what you see with your eyes, rather than by faith believing what God says you are. The scriptures tell us we are a new creation, we are his workmanship, we became rich when he became poor for us, we are by faith righteous in his sight(how he see's us), he as also become wisdom, holiness and redemption to us, the list is as long as my arm.He is also no substitute, we are being changed into his likeness.
