“I am the resurrection and the life. He who believes in me will live, even though he dies; and whoever lives and believes in me will never die." John 11:25

Who is the I am in “I am the resurrection ...."

A: Jesus (" before Abraham was ..I am " John 8:58

Notice the order of sequence Jesus says this:
  • He who believes in me will live, even though he dies;
  • and whoever lives and believes in me will never die"
Jesus is very clear about what comes first:
  • belief in Jesus before death (1. lives and 2. believes will never die... )
Contrary to wanton belief..Jesus doesn't say:
  • All eventually will come to believe in me, even though he dies;
  • All will come to believe in me and will live, even though he dies rejecting me;
  • All paths will come to me and will find life
And the second contrary to wanton belief..Jesus doesn't say:
  • and whoever dies will then be given the opportunity to believe in me will never die
  • and whoever lives and not believes in me will never die, because it's not fair.
God's will for time of salvation is for those who
1. Lives (living)
2. and then believes
Jesus knows what happens to the unbeliever after death.
John 8:24
I told you that you would die in your sins; if you do not believe that I am the one I claim to be, you will indeed die in your sins.”

Indeed ... You don't need to go beyond the scriptures to know that God is the savior of all people, and will have all people to be saved.

And the scriptures clearly teach that all who confess and believe that Christ is lord will be saved, and that every knee shall bow and every tongue confess that Christ is lord, and that no one can truly confess that Christ is lord but by the holy spirit.

"and whoever lives and believes in me will never die. Do you believe this?” John 11:26

I do appreciate that you guys need to make sure your answer to Jesus' question "Do you believe this?” John 11:26 is ..."Well Lord, let me correct you on what you mean"

But as try as you may, this isn't about your never ending attempts to usurp Jesus' spoken words.
It's for those who want to know what Jesus actually said.

But you have to, to believe only a few are saved.

Wait for it.........................Only a few find the narrow gate, the sooner you humble yourself and accept you found nothing, that he actually found you, and a man can receive nothing unless it be given him from above,you will find that you are back within the confines of "it is written".

Everything God does, he does in abundance.

Young's Literal Translation - John 11:

25Jesus said to her, `I am the rising again, and the life; he who is believing in me, even if he may die, shall live;
26and every one who is living and believing in me shall not die -- to the age; 27believest thou this?'

You and I have long ago agreed about decision theology.

Last I knew, what we disagreed about is that (based on other scriptures) "all" is not to be understood as "all inclusive" . To understand that all = "all inclusive" is "going beyond what is written" based on multiple other verses....Bible verses like the one you mentioned:

Matthew 7:14
But small is the gate and narrow the road that leads to life, and only a few find it.

You found nothing friend, Someone found you . All means all to me, just like Jesus finding me, means exactly that, and not i found him, which is denying and rejecting what is written.

I realize that you need "all means all", and in the correct context we don't "find him" but there should be no reason that other things should be also accepted at face value.

Jesus said this:
Matthew 7:14
But small is the gate and narrow the road that leads to life, and only a few find it.

John 8:24
I told you that you would die in your sins; if you do not believe that I am the one I claim to be, you will indeed die in your sins.”

John 11:25
“I am the resurrection and the life. He who believes in me will live, even though he dies; and whoever lives and believes in me will never die."

I understand that it's difficult to understand\accept that position, but that's how Jesus taught it.
We don't get the credit for finding him, yet only a few find it

You cannot be serious ?

This is a classic example of stupidty passed off as my thoughts are not your thoughts, to justify the stupidty of it.

If you found it, how does God get credit for you finding it ?. Come on you are far more intelligent than this .

There's nothing difficult to understand, and i don't even want to try and understand your crazy interpretation of it, I was lost(in other words i was so far lost i needed someone to find me) and now i'm found(somebody found me)

The narrow gate is nothing to do with finding Jesus.
