Default The Commandments (Law) show us that we can't keep them!

When asked what they think the Lord wants of them, many confidently respond, "Do my best to obey the Ten Commandments and follow the Golden Rule." They believe that if they can only sufficiently obey enough rules or laws, God will be appeased and allow them into heaven. But, the law only frustrates us by our inability to keep it! Do you suppose God is surprised?

In fact, the very purpose of the law is to show us that we cannot keep it ... or more importantly, that it will take something besides our effort to reconcile us with God. But, God, by His Grace, has not provided the law to show us what we must do to be saved, but as a tutor, to lead us to Christ (Gal 3:10-24).

Although believers are no longer under the law, the law still serves to show us when we are straying away from God's will ... reminding us to repent and turn back. The limited ability of our weak flesh to keep the law ... also helps prevent false pride from undermining our Christian walk and relationship with the Lord.

You just keep on thinking that, and find out where it gets you...surely not into the Kingdom Of God. And teaching it to others...all I can say is that I am very glad I do not walk in your shoes. You are treading on very "sandy" ground.

An important reason why it is difficult to just obey the Ten Commandments is the fact that the natural love that we are all born with is not a strong enough love and not sufficient to prevent us from disobeying them. We can try with all of our might to do as our Father wants us to do, but worldly temptations are always at our beck and call. These diversions then give us a choice as to what we will do.

But there is a stronger love, one which foundation is build on a rock, and that is God's Divine Love and it is this Love, when we seek for and obtain it, that changes our souls to that of our Heavenly Father's... so following the Ten Commandments is then a given as we become more at-one with Him and we take on a divine nature.

Instead of worrying about the commandments we do not keep, I think we should brag about the ones that we DO keep.

For example, I have never killed anyone. I'm off to a good start!

Actually, those who say they keep the 10 commandments will say those are the only laws they have to keep. But of course they will say it is wrong to be a homosexual which is not in the 10 commandments..... isn't that special.

In Revelation 13: 1 .... there is a beast of seven heads and ten horns and ten crowns and on his heads the name of blasphemy.... .. See this dark spirit rejects the laws of God and his commandments ...... in verse 4..... the Revelation the Lord God asks ``Who is like the beast?... Who is able to make war with him ? ....... we are all called to resist the sin that the Lord rejects , but are also called Not to condemn others who sin but help them overcome this burden in the world.....

Please everyone, comprehend how He fulfills them in us!

Step one: Abide in Me, and I in you. I am the Vine, and you are the branches. For without me you can do nothing. (John 15)

Step two: Think not that I came to destroy the law or the prophets: I came not to destroy the law, but to fulfill them. (Mat 5:17)

Do not try to fulfil the law in the flesh - it's an abomination to Him! We are free from the bondage of the law, and slaves to Christ! He is perfection in us.

Are ye so foolish? having begun in the Spirit, are ye now made perfect by the flesh? (Gal 3:3)

Agree that we are no longer under the law, but understand that it does not also follow that you will do the things the law preached against. Jesus only added love , the 11th, but that is a summary of the ten.
