You are right. The sad part is that people who don't understand eternal security is that they think that all they must do to maintain their salvation is to keep believing and do righteous deeds.

So here are some questions to ponder about. If I lose my mind or have brain damage, and as a result I stop believing, stop being obedient, and worse forget about my salvation and God, would my salvation be lost as a result of my inability to keep it or remember it and by not being obedient to do righteous acts? If so, then why offer salvation to any of us in the first place, if we can't maintain it on our own merit? That's why God takes full credit for our salvation, through Jesus' sacrifice. As a result, God, through His Holy Spirit can work in us to help us grow in sanctification daily.

No God is merciful, you do not earn it, but you can not forsake Him, you can not go worship Alah for 20 years and bow to the devil and go, it is not an easy thing, but the verses are clear for it

you have to endure to the end to be saved and not all do, there is going to be a falling away first of Christians they will give God up and go into the world in one form or anothe and we are in it now, we do not live in sin, it is not easy to do lose God, He did give them a bill of divorcment in the OT does He change, do we not have more light to not give Him up, simple he warns when a person goes into the world, those that live in sin are not His, if you live for Him and then say I do not want you any more you may not be done then, but you go with that so long you might find a very warm place to do that to Him and die that way pushing Him past a point He said He would not accept, He knows, He said to the church in Rev the end times chruch, worldly luke warm church of people who want sin an him too, be careful or I will remove your candle stick He said, be careful or I will blot you out of the book of like, they had the Holy Spirit in Hebrews it says but gave Him up for one lie and sin of the devil, He warns for as long as He decides, but you got to abide in the vine, be careful He says, or you can be broken off, don't get high minded, you forsake me, I will forsake you before my father in heaven, he doesn't leave or forsake, the person does something, they give up the faith and with out faith it is impossible to please Him, I know the verses you can not be plucked out of His hand, but I guess given He does say you have to endure to be saved and he says a large group won't then I gues they walk and fight their way out of His hand, I just don't thing that having Jesus Christ and then going to Carl, or Dali, or Alah or Buddah might just break your fellowship and get you divorce, it is not easy on Him for died for it, but people in the old did it and got divorce, Israel got divorced by God, they worked, think forty year he bore that group, but He did say 40 days the way they pushed him and they had very little of what we have and they were toast, God said they were toast, Now you got to figure they got 40 days and it was over, they wandered 40 years and got all that and then they died and went below, so I will say, If you can worship the devil which is what leaving Him is and you can go twenty year doing it then you might figure, God decided with people with farless light they got 40 days, people are so hard hearted that they want heaven and they never want to love God much, churches full of people cold and ruthless, I am not one of them, I work hard to help reach and love people, and even when they have left Him I work hard to reach them crying, I can't imagine what He goes thru, whe you had Him and said I will take pot, sex, money, Alah, Buddah fill my head full of tv and evolution and wickedness so far the planet never understood 100 years ago and it is find, people cursing and swearing Gods name on tv not at all a problem and you watch all day drink it up and oh I got grace with out works,

Ezekiel has been know to say scripture

wicked man leave his wickness, it will be remembered no more
a righteous man leave his righteousness it will be remembered no more

You say My ways are not equal, My ways are equal says the Lord

It is not easy, but some they really think that what they do has nothing to do with how God feels about them, and they are doing things they are not supposed to do

1 John 3

1Behold, what manner of love the Father hath bestowed upon us, that we should be called the sons of God: therefore the world knoweth us not, because it knew him not.
2Beloved, now are we the sons of God, and it doth not yet appear what we shall be: but we know that, when he shall appear, we shall be like him; for we shall see him as he is.
3And every man that hath this hope in him purifieth himself, even as he is pure.
4Whosoever committeth sin transgresseth also the law: for sin is the transgression of the law.
5And ye know that he was manifested to take away our sins; and in him is no sin.
6Whosoever abideth in him sinneth not: whosoever sinneth hath not seen him, neither known him.
7Little children, let no man deceive you: he that doeth righteousness is righteous, even as he is righteous.
8He that committeth sin is of the devil; for the devil sinneth from the beginning. For this purpose the Son of God was manifested, that he might destroy the works of the devil.
9Whosoever is born of God doth not commit sin; for his seed remaineth in him: and he cannot sin, because he is born of God.
10In this the children of God are manifest, and the children of the devil: whosoever doeth not righteousness is not of God, neither he that loveth not his brother.
11For this is the message that ye heard from the beginning, that we should love one another.
12Not as Cain, who was of that wicked one, and slew his brother. And wherefore slew he him? Because his own works were evil, and his brother's righteous.
13Marvel not, my brethren, if the world hate you.
14We know that we have passed from death unto life, because we love the brethren. He that loveth not his brother abideth in death.
15Whosoever hateth his brother is a murderer: and ye know that no murderer hath eternal life abiding in him.
16Hereby perceive we the love of God, because he laid down his life for us: and we ought to lay down our lives for the brethren.
17But whoso hath this world's good, and seeth his brother have need, and shutteth up his bowels of compassion from him, how dwelleth the love of God in him?
18My little children, let us not love in word, neither in tongue; but in deed and in truth.
19And hereby we know that we are of the truth, and shall assure our hearts before him.
20For if our heart condemn us, God is greater than our heart, and knoweth all things.
21Beloved, if our heart condemn us not, then have we confidence toward God.
22And whatsoever we ask, we receive of him, because we keep his commandments, and do those things that are pleasing in his sight.
23And this is his commandment, That we should believe on the name of his Son Jesus Christ, and love one another, as he gave us commandment. 24And he that keepeth his commandments dwelleth in him, and he in him. And hereby we know that he abideth in us, by the Spirit which he hath given us.
