I was just over at dictionary.com looking up something and noticed this article:

What words will be changed in two new editions of the Bible? | The Hot Word | Hot & Trending Words Daily Blog at Dictionary.com

Thought this would be interesting as some people don't seem to acknowledge that words in our English translations have changed over time because meanings have changed and/or were not entirely accurate. That is why they are translations. They are not the original scripture, just a translation of the original scripture, and as such, there may be errors or mistranslations in them. Different versions of the bible can even have completely different meanings for the same passage of scripture.

This is why it is important to look at different versions, compare word usage, and try to understand the original meaning of the word if possible.

However 99% of the time most translations are perfectly fine... but that 1% will get you

Exactly! It's that 1% that "got" me to start investigating and researching everything I had been taught being raised as a fundamentalist ETer. It would be great to have the proper translation of ALL words in one place, maybe that will happen soon.
