I belong to me. I don't do well with authority figures.
That is called rebellion against God. We all were in a rebellious state until we submit to, believe in, love, and follow Jesus. When we are in rebellion, we are at war with God, separated from Him by our sinful uprising against Him. Only Jesus reconciles us to God and gives us His Spirit to make us submit to and obey God. Rebellion against God is the essence of all sin and all humans' original sinful nature.

That doesn't mean I'm willing to follow the other.
I'm not a follower, that's why I was so hot to get back OUT of the military.

ok, but realize that there are only two destinations: the path that leadeth to destruction which is wide and flows from rebellion, and the narrow path that leads to eternal life, which is only reached through submission and faith in Jesus Christ.

There are many different roads, we are not predestined.
And I'm not even sure God exists, to be honest. I don't feel as if I should have to "submit", it isn't in my nature to do so, and I should be accepted for who I am. IF God created me, then He must accept me as He created me. If He only creates perfection, then I am perfect the way I am.

I know that I never make mistakes.
You are right about one thing here: it is not your or anyone else's natural orientation to submit. That is why Jesus taught us that no one can and will enter into heaven unless they are born again. Our old, rebellious, sinful nature leads directly to hell and is opposed to the things of God and His offer of salvation through Jesus Christ. What can rescue us from our miserable rebellious nature? Only Jesus the Christ!
scgraham, I'm always curious when people believe that, how they reconcile sins of omission in their lives. The Bible tells us to visit the widows and orphans. Do you believe that it's a sin if you don't?

WHAT???? What are you talking about? "Seek to dispute the scriptures?" Are you kidding me? I asked a legitimate question that I truly have wondered about. Isn't this a discussion forum where people come to discuss their Christian beliefs? I'd like to know if you are comfortable with the belief that you'll go to hell if you have sin at your death, yet sins of omission are sins - right? Why can't you just answer the question?

1 John 5
[18] We know that whosoever is born of God sinneth not; but he that is begotten of God keepeth himself, and that wicked one toucheth him not.
[19] And we know that we are of God, and the whole world lieth in wickedness.
[20] And we know that the Son of God is come, and hath given us an understanding, that we may know him that is true, and we are in him that is true, even in his Son Jesus Christ. This is the true God, and eternal life.
