Default O Holy Me

Catholics will tell you that THEY are loved by God.

Lutherans will tell you that THEY have the right way to interpret scripture.

Baptists will tell you that you must do things THEIR way in order to please God.

Evangelicals will tell you that you must be one of THEM in order to get to heaven.

Everyone is crying "follow me!, follow me!" Everyone has the "Right" way, the "right" interpretation. Everyone says they are a True Follower of Jesus. Everyone is part of the "right" denomination.

What's up with this? Will the "real" Christian please stand up?!?

On the other hand, it's indeed a rare thing to hear someone say, "I do NOT believe the right doctrine." "Don't be like me." "Don't follow what I tell you to."

So what converts a person? Is it a convincing speech? Is it the number of scripture verses that one quotes? Is it the amount of original Greek and Hebrew that one knows? Is it the intensity of the Spiritual experience? Is it the fancy clothes? Is it the "popularity" of the group?

How do people decide which church is the "right" church??

IS there a "right" church??

Blessings to all,
brian

So much Truth there brian you wrote, you know, God is His Word, just read and follow the Bible, He wrote it, things are so bad as you say and what you are saying really upsets God for he knows that those buildings all over with people claiming His name all not together fighting and teaching different, but His Word is Truth and He is Truth, So I have Hope for so many people wanting nothing to do with this church thing and they make some sense

for they say which stall am I supposed to go in this doesn't seem right, but all the cows in all the buildings say we are it. So I always say, please read the KJV or NKJV of the Bible for yourself and pray to God to show you the Truth for yourself, you are going to love Him so much for you are getting it and I just left you a prayer post in the other, God you are Great lol, you should read it brian, He answered my prayer that quick I come out and you make this post lol

I've had many discussions with atheists about Christianity, and many of them make some very valid, truthful observations. (I don't always agree, but if they speak truth, it ought to be heard.)

"The truth shall set you free."
But many Christians are afraid of the truth when it is spoken.

It shouldn't be this way, aisi..

Blessings AN,
brian

Hi ETC,
I believe that the Truth is within the hearts of all mankind; sometimes religion can draw us away from our hearts and from reason, and when that starts to happen, we need to be woken up again and brought back "into the fold."
It took years before I acknowledged the condemning attitude that I had towards those who were not like me. -And sometimes it still tries to creep back in!

We all need to Love more!..

Blessings!
brian

But since you do not believe what he wrote, how are you going to believe what I say?" John 5:47.

Self-denial .

...get down on your knees today Brian and pray fervently to God to open the eyes of your heart to receive His truth in holy wisdom and in holy understanding as He means it to be understood and lived by you...as you open up the Good Book and begin anew in learning what His Holy Word...Jesus...The Gospel...is trying so desperately to teach you.

For whatsoever things were written aforetime were written for our learning, that we through patience and comfort of the scriptures might have hope. Romans 15:4.

And that from a child thou hast known the holy scriptures, which are able to make thee wise unto salvation through faith which is in Christ Jesus; All scripture [is] given by inspiration of God, and [is] profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness: 2 Timothy 3:15-16.

In Christ's love for you and in His concern for the state of your soul,
Verna.

Oh my brian, there are not many Christians, for we do not live in sin, and you said true things we have problems too for the real Christians are not happy being a lutheran or a baptist or a pentacostal, we Love God we just want a pure clean cold glass of water in clear class and sometimes we put wine into it.

please you go into a church and it is a nightmare for us for what do we do, they don't want the Bible, they want some show and buildings and run in run out, need help oh we don't do that, fill out the forms, you need three copies to pastor, we will have a board meeting and in four months we will send you a check for the 25 cents you are asking for to use the pay phone, we will give you the bill and loan forms now though we need you to get a drug test and four quarts of blood too, I hear you so does God,

He loved you to make you, He died for you, He loves you for your understanding of things, but please don't let stupid wicked things the devil did to others keep you for God and heaven, I know both groups and both are a problem, once you get high on the Bible and obey and living it with Jesus by faith and Love you see and people who do not go to church and are not saying they are christians and are asking questions make some sense, even the athesists you say may make some, they say this corrupt chruch thing

And will attack you with a vengeance for speaking the truth, as has already occurred above, and sure to follow.

Honestly, Brian, I think that you choose what your heart tells you is right. Since God knows your heart and the Holy Ghost speaks to your heart, that's probably the safest choice.

Verna,
many groups have told me the same things. "Say this prayer with us" and "believe what I tell you to" is what they all tell me to do, so that they are satisfied.

Do it this way. No, do it that way. Do what I tell you to..

Am I supposed to make everybody happy? Should I become a member of every group that wants to convert me?

Every group is "the right group" and every believer is a "true follower." Why should I believe one group is "right" and not another??

Blessings,
brian
