A Gentle Biblical Reminder - Men, remember "it is shameful for a woman to speak in the church."
Moderator cut: Reference to moderator actions
1 Corinthians 14:34-35:
34 let the women keep silence in the churches: for it is not permitted unto them to speak; but let them be in subjection, as also saith the law. 35 And if they would learn anything, let them ask their own husbands at home: for it is shameful for a woman to speak in the church.
1 Corinthians 14:34-35 - Passage*Lookup - American Standard Version - BibleGateway.com
1 Timothy 11:15
11 Let a woman learn in quietness with all subjection.
12 But I permit not a woman to teach, nor to have dominion over a man, but to be in quietness.
13 For Adam was first formed, then Eve;
14 and Adam was not beguiled, but the woman being beguiled hath fallen into transgression:
15 but she shall be saved through her child-bearing, if they continue in faith and love and sanctification with sobriety.
1 Timothy 2:11-15 - Passage*Lookup - American Standard Version - BibleGateway.com
Since the quotes are directed to Men, I would like to hear stories of how Men today deal with these issues. How do we stop Women from talking in Church? How do we keep the woman "in quietness" and remind them that "Adam was first formed, then Eve."

What you speak of is respect, that in Life, there is always the Father. But, to say a woman can not read the Gospels of Jesus Christ, in Matt., Mark, Luke and John, is to cheapen Jesus Christ teachings. For they speak the Truth when reading the Gospels.
They give honor to the Son in their faith.

This is a rule for the Corinthian church in the days of Apostle Paul only and does not dictate to Christians today who have different cultures and customs ...... Just as your church may have rules in your church that others may not have in their churches ..... Like a rule in your church may be do not bring coffee in the church , does that mean that other churches two thousand year from now can not drink coffee in their churches as a grave error .NO I did not thing so...... See you go to Corinthian church today and there is just ruins of old structures were no one lives there as the Lord Judged these people and they lost their cities to the heathens ...go figure !

What about the Timothy quote?
Also - is it custom to pick and choose what is "out dated" and not followed? I mean, who decided to go against the bible and make women = men part of our culture and current customs? I mean, there's so much outrage over gay marriage and people yelling and screaming "we must follow the bible!" - well, there's two bible quotes up above for ya..

It's only a matter of time before someone comes in and says something along the lines of, "Oh, no, that only applies to their time! We don't have to do that now....but as for the rest of the Bible, yes, we have to follow that. Just not all of the things that I don't like, because I've been raised in the 21th century."
-looks up- Oh, looks like someone already did.

I have no problems with these scriptures whatsoever. The Holy Spirit said it. I believe it. And to the poster who said it was only meant for the church in Corinth and for that culture, I say, Tell it to Jesus on judgement day.
As a female I have never not felt equal nor have I felt dominated. If anything, I have always felt revered, loved and respected by the men in the church. Besides everyone knows that behind every great man is a loving woman. We don't need to take the leadership role to get what we want. We are well trained in that regard. LOL Matter of fact, most women today are leaders in their work and homes, so at church it's great to let someone else run the ship. I am a member of the church of Christ where these scriptures are adhered to. I think these are good rules and if the Bible says it's how it should be, then that's what we should do. Problem is people think they know more than God does.
