I've seen many Christian denominations actively teach against those they consider heretical. I've noticed Evangelicals preach especially hard against groups like Jehovah's Witnesses, Mormons, and Catholics.

With that in mind, I've been wondering how Christians square Acts 5:37-39 with their condemnation of these other religions. In that verse Gamaliel, a Jewish lawyer, urges a stop to the persecution of Christians, saying

38 And now I say unto you, Refrain from these men, and let them alone: for if this counsel or this work be of men, it will come to nought:

39 But if it be of God, ye cannot overthrow it; lest haply ye be found even to fight against God.

Just curious. Because to me, it seems like some of modern-day Christianity's reaction to these other religions is not unlike a milder version how the Jews rejected early Christians (absent the stonings of course!).

I guess I've had a bad taste in my mouth from a few such incidents that I've witnessed.

People who have ministries or passion where they speak out against other group and build hatred against people and groups and Never teach on Prayer or redemption are basically under a curse of ought and unforgiveness and condemnation and the only Grace from the Lord is anointing that are previously given were their wine bags are corrupted with pride and strife ....... See people can get out of the will of God and build the curse of martyr that is heading nowhere..... or they can stay in prayer and let Jesus do that for them who can turn things around without any strife , with ease

This is hard for me to understand, but I think you are saying people who foster hatred to other groups are under a curse. But Jesus can let them progress without conflict?

I don't think that's it, but I could be wrong.

Christianity preaches to love yourself and others EXCEPT those not of your religion. All else is evil which will snare you right into free thought leading to evil heresies and possibly burning in a lake of fire for all eternity.

If it be God, you cannot overthrow it!

Kat i don't think christianity does love itself, that is why it's always banging on about how God hates sin. It hates what it see's in itself and his centered on that which it believes God hates, this is why it's always judging sin in others, because it believes God is being hard on it's own sin.If he's hard on my sin,he's hard on yours too mentality.

That's why it says to forgive and you will be forgiven. I think forgiveness is more about the state of the person forgiving than the one forgiven. We judge others the same way we judge ourselves. It's sad to see so many people missing out on being happy in life.

People need to read prior and subsequent verses than the ones here by the OP as it tells the story, it is a confidence one has when we preach under the guise of the Lord that one can rejoice whether they are persecuted or beaten by man it is in His name that they go forward.

Your statement is not right either.
