Sin is not just a lack of knowledge. It's much, much more profound than that.

Indeed. Sin does not disappear with knowledge.

In a sense, I agree with you. It IS finished in God's eyes, who sees the end from the beginning. But, until an individual recognizes that truth and is fully living it out (obeying the the Spirit/Love always and never the "flesh"/non-love), it's not finished in us. Do you think that is achieved in any of us in the here and now? I don't know.

But, as regards your o.p.,

knowing that God sees it as already being accomplished, there's no reason to think God isn't loving us, even though we are not fully recognizing and living in the that truth.

It is not finished until it is finished.

Or course it depends what "it" means. Jesus says "it is finished' twice in the Bible, once on the cross in reference to the end of His mission on earth, and once in the Revelations in reference to the judgement day.

It is a lack of CONSCIOUS AWARENESS of who we truly are...our true selves and how that relates to the rest of humanity. It is the REALIZATION that we are ALL ONE, not only with each other but with God. This ignorance IS our sin.

You don't "see" the truth in yourself Finn...so it doesn't surprise me at all that you can't "see" it in others. When you stop condemning yourself...you will stop condemning others.
